  1. I wouldn think available tv apps would be based on location of ip address rather than hard-coded to the tv. As long as your netflix/disney+ etc subscriptions are for Aus services you should be good to go. Worst case scenario you could buy a plug-in like Google Chromecast or Amazon Firestick and use the smart apps there.

...but that kinda proves my point.  In much of mainland Australia, it's not cold for long enough to galvanise people into installing a decent heating system.  In Tassie it is.

I don't understand why solar panels are so popular when the same owners don't bother to fix their insulation first. You run heating to get up to a comfortable temperature, but as soon as it goes off the heat escapes through the crap walls and windows.

We moved house a year ago and there was no loft insulation except for some thin sarking below the roof. A few hundred dollars of insulation batts made the place warmer and quieter for relatively little effort.

  3. If you fall short points-wise but have time on your side, you might consider applying for jobs in the UK with companies that have cyber roles in both UK and Australia, then try and transfer internally. A lot of global firms will have tech hubs in EMEA, US and APAC so they can provide round the clock support.

Quite a few Aussie banks have cyber roles in London, e.g., Westpac, Commonwealth Bank and Macquarie.

  4. I would take a travel pillow over a regular one. Much smaller and it allows you to rest your head in any direction

Foam earplugs to help you sleep/snooze on the plane.

Download plenty of movies and tv shows to a laptop or tablet.

Some sweets to suck if air pressure makes your ears clogged.

A packet of wet wipes to refresh yourself mid flight.

A change of underwear and socks to freshen up.
