As part of my, now normal, 3am email check, we finally got the golden email! Almost exactly 8 months since we applied we have been granted our visa.
I was a nominated for a non-pmsol role and had two S56 Requests For Information, one for employment history and the other was for a new born medical.
I hope my timeline gives others in a similar position a guide to the current processing times.
Good luck to everyone waiting!

We got our visa 22/07. Sorry didn’t update earlier but pomsinoz didn’t seem to let me in. Thanks all for keeping us posted and that glimmer of light! Waiting sucks but after 4 and half months we have it. Flights booked to Perth mid September.
happy days!!
Great news! I am glad to here that you have got your visa. I needed a glimmer of hope

I hope so.
We have been in limbo since January and it would be nice to be able to start our next chapter.

Congratulations!!

I am looking for advice about bringing my car to Western Australia.
I have an old Range Rover (approved and now on the Gov’t ROVER system) which I am hoping to import but I am concerned about the requirement to be completely rust free; it is 17 years old and built in Britain so has some surface rust on the bottom of it, does anyone know the exact requirements and what I should do before I ship it.

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has an idea how long it takes, generally, for a request for information to be reviewed? I was asked for additional employment history which I returned a couple of weeks ago. I called the call centre but they don’t provide a timeline beyond the general visa timelines.
Our visa is now sitting at further assessment and we don’t know if we should be prepping to go or just sitting back waiting for another the long wait.

We have had movement in our application, they have asked for a bit more info, which I have provided, so hopefully not too long now!
-
Great to see the queue moving, hopefully they will get the backlog sorted. We are 5 months and counting since we lodged.
-
Great news, fingers crossed it will be granted quickly!

No they haven’t used an agent as I think they have done a few 482’s and 186’s in the past. My profession isn’t really one which Australian universities train enough of, so I think the sector is used to importing QS’s from the UK.

It may help to know that processing times vary depending on which country you applied from. Some countries (like the Middle East) are seen as more "high risk" and applicants are subject to more stringent security checks so they take much longer. If you're applying from the UK then your application should be on the faster path.
I wondered if you knew how accurate the processing times are; we are now getting into the flow of waiting, but I do have a worry in my gut that the times will keep being pushed out and out. We never used an agent and unfortunately the one's I have contacted are not able to offer a consultation as we have lodged the visa already.

Yeah we are the same and it is not a big issue. My only concern is that the firm needs to fill the role and sponsorship is pulled before the visa comes through!

Hello KAG86. The whole process is taking ages. So i think if you know you are going at the end of this year or within 2 years, then get the permit and quarantine space booked and you can change it if needs be. But definitely get the blood sample back and then get the permit ready and set.
If you really dont know when you will be going then get the blood sample done and hold tight.
Thanks, I have actually contacted your company for a quote so hopefully I can get the process underway.

We have a Golden Retriever which has been vaccinated and is due for the 180 day blood test this week. I wondered how congested the quarantine centre is and if it is how long in advance would I need to book a spot? We are waiting on our 186 being reviewed/granted and I am not sure when that will happen.

Dear all,
I have applied for ENS PR- ICT Security Specialist.
Nomination + Visa applied : 31st Dec 2021
Medical Done : 6th Jan 2022.
The application is still in received state there is no update on the application. Is anyone in similar situation. What are the current estimated timelines.
We are in the same boat. The company submitted the nomination on the 30th of November ‘21 and we completed application on the 18 December ‘21, followed by the medicals on the 13th of January ‘22.
The waiting is a nightmare, twice daily checks on the portal hoping for it to move from received.
Possibly slightly optimistically, we sold the house and moved in with family so hoping for a visa before our welcome runs out

Hi,
I am currently waiting on my 186 DE (offshore) to be reviewed, the nomination and the application are still sitting as received and I wondered if anyone knew how long UK applications take, generally, to be reviewed and if it would take longer due to it being for a family and not a single person.
Job - Quantity Surveyor
Nomination submitted- 30/11/21
Visa Applied - 18/12/21
Health checks submitted - 13/01/22
Thanks,
