Thanks Iman.
How much delay is expected ? 1 month ?
I was overseas for 3 months. When I compared my invite date with others who had applied the same time as me, it seemed liked mine was 3-4 months later

Will traveling to my current home country (India) for 4-5 weeks delay processing of my citizenship application?
- will it slow down the processing & delay invitation for a interview date (if travelling before interview)- will it slow down the invitation for ceremony (if travelling after interview/approval)
In our case it did slow down the process for the interview as we were invited later than we had anticipated but I dont think it will have anything to do with your ceremony once you are approved

Approval finally came in. 2.5 months after the interview. Hope we can make it to the Australia Day ceremony

My application also took a long time , so if you have a international travel history even before getting PR this can also count towards the delay
Could you tell me how long it took your application to get approved after the interview?

It is , as long as you are under the advertised processing timeframe you should be fine , don’t worry
We are not. My wife applied 15 months ago and according to the website 90% of applications reach a decision in 14 months or less. Call the department but they said they cant provide status update

Hi
2 months after the interview abd we have heard nothibg re the approval. Is that normal?

Hi guys
Recently I see most people (99%) getting approved a day after the interview. My wife had her interview 5 weeks ago and still nothing. Is that normal?
-
Hi
Once the status changes to "approved" on immiaccount, do we also receive a letter in post?
Also my wife and I had interview on the same day. Very smooth process and super friendly officers. We were both asked to fill out a form which we both did by the end of the day. I got approved the next day while my wife has been waiting for 25 days now and no update. Is that normal?

My wife and I had our interviews a couple of weeks ago in VIC(although our application dates one month apart with her applying one month after me) . Both officers were super nice and the process was quick and smooth. We were both asked to fill out a form and upload on our portal which we both did that same day . My approval came the next day but for her we have heard although it has been 2 weeks. Is that normal? I am assuming as we were both invited together , then applications should have been at a similar stage, but dont get why hers should take much longer.
Any ideas?

Hi - 2 questions around the citizenship application.
1. My wife and I would be applying for our citizenship towards the end of this year. Do we need to make separate citizenship applications from our respective IMMI accounts ? Or do I make one application using my IMMI account and add her name on the same application ?
2. We got married last year (in Australia) before applying for our PR and all her Australian documents (license, medicare, etc.) have her maiden name. She would now like to change her last name to mine. While submitting the citizenship application, should I just enter her details with the new last name and attach our marriage certificate ? We would like our citizenship certificate and Australian passports to display her new last name.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi
Re your first question I applied for both my wife and myself using my oen immiaccount. They would still be 2 separate application but under one immiaccount.

Hi everyone
I applied for citizenship in Sep 21. I left Australia in May and came back in September. Everyone told me I would receive an invite immediately after I arrive in Australia but there has been no news in the past 20 days.I just called the department and was told told shocking news. I was told I needed to wait and that my travel AFTER the date of my application would balso be taken into account when they are assessing my application meaning I could be refused because I spent more than 90 days outside Australia AFTER my application date. I spoke with a lawyer last year and was told the residence requirement only applies before you submit your application and once the application is submitted the assessment will only be based on travel before that date. Do you have any information?

Did u try calling home affairs?
Same old cliche answers. Said your status is now showing "onshore". No updates on your case yet. You need to wait as it is still within the processing time window. I applied in sep21and people from feb 22 in VIC are now getting invited!

Friends,
Still no update.
Should i have to call immi or wait?
Dont fret
I hear some are approved the same day
Some might even take up to 2 months. But the longer wait time does not also mean something is not right. Its normal. You just need to be patient and wait

Give them a chance! You only came back 2 days ago, and today is a public holiday into the bargain.
Thanks mate
I know it might take a while. My concern is,
Do you think I will lose myself in the queue as a september 21 applicant?

Hi everyone
I applied for citizenship sep 2021. I was overseas the past 4 months and came back to Australia a couple of days ago. I also calked the department two days ago and informed them that I am back. I notice many Victorians who applied Nov 2021 are receiving invites so its definitely past our turn. No news from the department yet. Does this mean I have lost my spot in the queue? Most of those who applied the same time as me received their invites 2 months ago. Does this mean that I have been pushed back in the line for four months? Or would I still be treated as someone who applied in Sep 2021?
Thanks

@Kuwind thanks for the reply. Will I go further back in the queue for the time spent overseas or will I still be considered an applicant who has applied in Sep 2021 once Im back?

Hi
I applied for citizenship from VIC sep 20th 2021. I noticed many applicants from those dates are receiving invitations these days.I have been overseas the last 3 months and I will be back to Australia in 20 days. I have also notified the department on my immiaccount the exact date of my return. My question is, can applicants receive invitations for interviews while they are overseas? Is there a chance I will receive the invititation now that I have informed my return date or do they wait for me to return? Once I return will I most likely receive an invitation quickly as most other applicants from sep 2021 have already been invited or was my application on hold during the time I was overseas and I need to wait longer?
I would appreciate your help and input :)

After citizenship approval, do we get the invite for the ceremony through post or is it still on immiaccount abd thru email?
