Have you gotten any communication at all or just still showing the status as application received?

Does anyone know if NSW is even processing citizenship applications at the moment?

Are you serious? That’s way within processing times. People in Melbourne are waiting for a sign since mid-2020

Does anyone know if the test centres in Melbourne are reopened?

I won’t be surprised if State emergency is extended to 2077.

Last time I called they said they should reopen end of November but I doubt that would change our predicament given the Christmas break and the fact that they still may have 50% capacity or some other Covid drama restriction. Living in Melbourne sucks, literally everything now is way below standard compared to the rest of the country

  3. To all Melbournians waiting for their test - let’s unite together!

If you like many other people I have spoken to are feeling like your citizenship application have been delayed for so long that it feels like it’s been forgotten, with months and years of waiting time piling up and no hope in sight, let’s our voices be heard

    - Write to your local mps explaining your situation

    - Carbon copy or write to the Hon Karen Andrews MP (Minister for Home Affairs)

    - Carbon copy or write to the Hon Alex Hawke MP (minister for immigration, citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs)

    - Write to the press (ABC, Herald Sun, The Age, etc)

    - Call the immigration call centre

Let’s do something. It’s just not right that the rest of the country is progressing with the tests and ceremonies as usual, while here in Melbourne we’re all stuck at pre-lockdown numbers

  5. I rang the immi and spoke to a guy who said that they have resumed working there, but I reckon they’re not back at 100% capacity in the offices as per covid rules (I believe it’s 50% capacity right now?). I spoke to some people online, everybody is waiting (me included). It’s a mess

Actually, the last published figures show that people are leaving Sydney and Melbourne in pretty much equal numbers.

No one's denying it's been a tough two years but a lot of Melburnians still love their city and are determined it will recover.  The atmosphere where I live is upbeat on the whole.

Having said that, I don't know why any prospective migrant would choose Melbourne.  Most migrants want lots of sun and sandy ocean beaches, and Melbourne doesn't have either.  I'll be quite happy if they give the place a miss.

What figures? Pretty pointless citing “the latest figures” without source. Also the fact that most migrants wants lots of sun and sandy ocean beaches that’s pretty cliche and unrealistic, most migrants are driven by jobs and quality of life, other family members, universities and schools, and many other reason not just the idea of living the dream in a tropical paradise. As for your last statement wishing “they would give the place a miss” that’s just gross.

  7. Does anybody know what is going on in Melbourne? I’ve had my citizenship appointment delayed so many times due to Melbourne being in and out of lockdown, ultimately cancelled before this last endless lockdown and so I have been waiting for years now! I can’t enlist in the ADF because of this!! This is way too much! What is going on does anybody have some news?
