U should be recieving an invite soon if u have applied in Apr2022.. as already mar 2022 applicants have recieved invites for test. So next 15 days u should most probably get it too.. now depending on ur council u may or maynot get the ceremony done before mar 2023. U have 1 year after approval to attend the ceremony. Or else ur approval gets cancelled..

If u r in council with longer wait times for ceremony u can move to another council. Get ceremony done..apply priority passport n all set to leave before March..good luck.. u r almost there.. would definitely suggest to complete the procedure n leave.

You were right! We got our test invite 2 Nov, applied 14 April. Hopefully city of Melbourne will do the ceremony pretty quickly!

Unfortunately I’m in Vic so very unlikely to get a test invite this side of Christmas, unless I’m mistaken and I hope that I am?

do you have a link to the posts re people applying in March 2022 getting invited??

  3. Hi all, tried to search for this as I’m sure it’s been answered before but couldn’t find it.

Applied citizenship April 2022, thinking of moving back to Uk for 2.5 years in March 2023, then come back (in VIC so I know it’s unlikely to get a test before then). I know it can’t be approved whilst I’m overseas but my question is how long can the application be sitting there on hold before they cancel and I have to reapply?

We can prove substantial ties (own a house, our newborn’s a citizen, bank account, super etc) and satisfy the general residence as at application, will they say we no longer satisfy it on our return?

We really want the citizenship as we intend to live in australia when the baby goes to school etc, is it too risky to go ?

other option is to renew our rrv and then reapply??

anyone have any advice or risks to share?

Your nomination was real quick. Did you apply both together? I have done the same on 27th July. No update for nomination as well. Not sure whether it has something to do with applications from Vic? I have seen most applications progressing are from victoria. This immigration does not have any clarification of how they work. I got an offshore applicant too. That could be another scenario but I believe that has nothing to do with nomination.

I think the offshore might have something to do with it, I have read they are prioritising onshore with borders closed.

Yes nomination was super quick, seems a bit strange that your nomination isn’t cleared as I don’t see how offshore would impact that?

@Klt888 in my experience, most applications that get set to "further assessment" take a longer than usual time.

    - There have been the odd exception, where some have come quicker than expected, however, generally speaking from my personal opinion - further assessment means it's going to be a while. Best to sit tight and try enjoy the ride.

Yay looks like I’m the odd exception as I just got told by my immigration agent I got the grant this morning! Waiting for the notification to be forwarded!

thanks to all on the forum it’s been a great help during the process. Hope you all get your grants soon 🤞🏻

  6. Hi all,

Any grants for general accountant lately?

I’ve recently applied for 186 TRT under general accountant:

Nomination and application lodged: 22 January 2021

    Applicants: 2 onshore

    State: VIC

Health Check: Cleared 9 March 2021

Status: Nomination - finalised, Visa - further assessment

Can anyone provide any more information on further assessment, can it be stuck on further assessment for a long time or do any of the long timers have a general estimate of how long it would be stuck on this phase before a grant?

    thanks in advance!
