  1. Hello,

Could anyone here advise me on how I should update the passport and address details for my parents? I applied 864 aged CPV for them on Feb 2021 and they have been on BV since we got back the acknowledged letter. Should I send the email about the new passport and address details to the email address I received for acknowledgment letter? If I do so, will that be updated for their BV details as well? We haven’t heard anything back from them like queue assignment since we got back that acknowledgment email and it has been about 1.5 years now.

    Hello Everyone,

Is there anyone who had just lodged the Contributory Aged Parent Subclass 864 visa from onshore?
I am trying to find out how long they would take to reply for the acknowledgement (together with bridging visa) and in which method (post / email).
I have just lodged for my parents on 22nd Jan 2021 and am concerning for their current tourist visa is about to expire in mid of Feb. I am hoping to see if there is anyone on the same boat as my case and would like to hear some information.

I would like to update my status here. (for anyone who is seeking for current timeline as me) I sent the application on 22nd Jan 2021. It arrived to Perth on 25th Jan 2021 and today on 2nd Feb 2021, I received the acknowledgement with bridging visa from parent visa center.

    Hi All,

    I need some help and advice please. The situation at my part has folded quite weird. Please if someone can advice me;

    a) I applied for my parents visa 864  by mid of Oct. They are on 600 visitor visa which is going to expire by end of this month (oct). Now, as of date, I haven't received any updates, neither the acceptance. I am very much concerned about bridging Visa  A as they might become unlawful noncitizens. I am hopeless now despite sending emails and calling immi team several times. What shall I do in this situation ?

    b) What if my parents stay beyond their date of current 600 visa expiry ? Will the department consider my lodging date and backdate the bridging visa A ? Anyone has experienced this before ?

    c) I cannot apply again the visitor visa for them as i will be granted a bridging visa for 600. If i get acceptance in the meanwhile 600 is being processed, I have no idea how the system will react here as bridging visa A for 864 wont be issued? My God this is so confusing for me

Also please if anyone on this forum who has applied 864 and received bridiging visa A , could you please share your time line how and when it was received ? Was the visa bridging received via post (on paper) or via email ?

Would really appreciate if anyone who can help me with this. Havent got any replies from immi teams or agents too.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello @Gannicus,

I found this topic from your old post. Was there any update for your parents case at all? May i know if you receive any bridging visa for them at all? I had just make a lodgement and very concerned to fall into similar scenario as yours. Appreciate if you could share any update with me.. 🙏

  6. Hello, Happy New Year Everyone,

I am the new member here and been following this thread as non-member for some time. We are from Asian background and my parents have been living with us (me and my brother, both are settled Australia permanent residents) here in Australia for almost a year on FA 600 visitor visa (3 years validity with max of 12 mths stay on each arrival). Their visas do have the 8503 condition and I have just got approval of that being waived to apply new visa on shore as they are about to expire. I am looking to apply subclass 864 CPV, been prepared the Form 47pa and Form 40. Before making a first payment and sending out the application forms with all necessary documents, I have a few questions here. Any suggestion or share experiences are sincerely appreciated.

    • Certified true copies - I remember I get it done before at a Pharmacy for my driver licence and passport. But for the immigration evidence purpose, do I necessarily have to get it signed from Lawyer?
    • Acknowledgement Letter - I understand it will be varied upon the postal service due to current COVID situation, but if I use the express post or courier service and let say they take a week to reach to Perth office, how long would they usually take to send out the acknowledgement letter back to us?
    • Bridging Visa - How would they normally inform us for bridging visa arrangement after 864 CPV application? Will that be included in the acknowledgement letter? Or do I have to apply separately for it? My parents' visa are expiring in mid of Feb so I am a bit concerned for the processing time of initial application/ack stage to make sure they remain lawfully residing here in Australia.

Thank you in advance again for everyone's kind interest and response.
