New BIIP scheme, effective from 1 July 2021
Getting a better deal for Australia from business and investment visas (homeaffairs.gov.au)
Hopefully DHA will expedite the approval process to clear up the backlog of current application before new scheme to be implemented in July 2021 (my dream)

We often worry more than our dogs do. It will be more stressful doing the drive than him hopping on a plane. I’ve just had a quote from a pet transporter and they said $211 from Melbourne to Perth which is a very good price. Dogs soon forget and once he is home with you then your new future together can start.
Hi Pom Queen, can you share to me the link or details as I am very interested to know? many thanks

Thanks Pom Queen. $211 is the price by car or flight? and do you know how long does it takes? Whether I can accompany together as I need to have the same route to Perth anyway. Thanks.

I have never driven it and certainly wouldn't do it alone. You need to do some research before you consider it, you will need to carry extra fuel, spare tyres, food, water. There are long stretches between roadhouses.
Hi Drumbeat, noted and thanks for your info - really appreciate

The sun in your eyes as the road is virtually east-west all the way.. So, do it early, with the sun behind you. I have driven it 6 times; once from Eucla to Perh in one run.
Cheers, Bobj.
Got it ... thanks for your valuable info, Bobj

You realise you'd be driving across the Nullabor Plain, are you experienced in driving in remote areas? If your dog has already flown from HK to Melbourne then the flight from Melbourne to Perth shouldn't be a problem for him.
Hi Drumbeat, I have checked the route and prepare to spend one day to travel from Nullarbor to Balladonia (around 7.5 hrs). Would you please advise what special attention I need to be aware in this region? thanks.

Unfortunately not.
‘You have a number of options:‘You fly to Melbourne get a taxi to Mickleham (It use to be called Spotswood/Melbourne Quarantine), collect your dog and then get a pet taxi/Uber back to the airport. You can then put your dog as excess baggage and fly your dog to Perth, you will be on the same flight but your pup will be in cargo.
‘You could hire a car and drive (it’s a very long drive and some hire companies don’t allow pets)
‘The easiest option is to get a pet transport company like Baycity Pet Travel or Moorholme (both cheaper than JetPets and Dogtainers) to collect your dog from quarantine and put on a plane to you. It’s the cheaper option and the least stressful for the dog and you.
Thanks Pom Queen. As possible, I would like to travel with my dog together to minimize his stress ... So very likely, I need to hire a car then ... Again, appreciate and thanks for your details

You could drive. I know someone who drove from Perth to Melbourne early this year. Took three days with a few stops. They said it was a long drive but fine. Worth considering if you want to save your dog the stress of flying. Many overnight places en route allow dogs in the room too.
Thanks Tulip. How about train, is it possible or not?

Be sure to start the Rabies vaccination and testing process early as it can take over 6 months to get your pet ready to travel to Australia due to the strict regulations.
Noted, thanks MacGyver

Unfortunately they closed all the other quarantine facilities down and there is only Melbourne now.
Thanks ... do you mean apart from Melbourne, there is other quarantine facilities available in Australia before? Will they be re-opened next year? My concern is the long way for my dog transfer from Melbourne to Perth after quarantine
-
I plan to move from Hong Kong to Perth with my dog next year, does anyone know it is must to stop at Melbourne for quarantine first? No other site for choice? Thanks

We got a CASE OFFICER! Finally, after 24 month and 2 days. 188B from Germany. Still a long list of requested documents:
a) do medical again. Why they as for it in the beginning when you apply, as it is max. valid 18 month and processing time is more than that?
b) police check of all countries we lived more than 12 month withhin the last 10 years. Difficult to optain during Corona.
c) Divers documents regarding the investment, point test etc.
Our immigration agent will check now the list and we will see how much effort it takes to provide all this documentation. They gave us 70 days to do so.
Congratulations. ... finally you got it

Congratulations Arthur ... enjoy your life in QLD

I think you will find they process will speed up. I have just had one client whose application was processed in 10 months. There is a huge emphasis on integrity checks in order to satisfy the anti money laundering and counter terrorism requirements. Proving source of funds and evidence funds were acquired legitimately is an ongoing challenge for many applicants.
Thanks Steve. May I know if your client's application is came from Hong Kong or other countries?
For the importance of integrity check, it is well noted. - thanks.

Check global application processing time
Thanks Asif. Hopefully not as I expect it the opposite. My understanding (and also I believe) they should expedite and shorten the processing time. Otherwise, why need to increase the quota ? !

On AUS Immigration website shows now investment catagory processing time 29 to 30 months..it will be implemented lodged application as well? Can someone advice me.
Hi Asif, from where you see the processing time is 29 to 30 months?
I check with this official link https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/business-innovation-and-investment-188 and as usual it states :"There are no standard processing times available for this stream."
