Onshore applicant here - My 186 application was submitted on 21st Sept 2020 and I was assigned a case officer on 9th October 2020 and subsequently, My nomination was also approved on 9th Oct.
I was requested by the CO to submit additional documents. Requested info:
- evidence of registration/lisencing and
- evidence of work expereince (payslips, PAYG summary, Notice of Assessment).
I have supplied this now and I also completed my health assessment on 10th Oct in Melbourne.
My MARA agent thinks we could get a positive news within the next 2-3 weeks.
So lets see what the turnaround now is. Fingers crossed.
________
Additional details: I'm an onshore applicant; nominated occupation - "Professional Engineer (nec)" with accredited sponsor (applications are usually processed a bit quicker than usual from what I'm told)Hi Thanks for sharing your timeline!
I am just wondering when you did book your health check in Melbourne. It could take at least one month to get medical check.

Hello guys,
I just want to say that the PR process is to push your patience to the limit.
There is nothing you can do besides waiting but please ensure you are consistent in documentation & write up of the documents you submit.
I think it is also about how confident you are with your application which definitely helps you go through it.
I have just received my 186 DE visa half an hour ago.
My timeline was as follows:
All applications & monitoring done through agent.
Visa : 186 DE
Nomination Applied : 11 MAY 2020
Visa Applied : 14 MAY 2020
Onshore : Yes
State: VIC
No. of applicants : 2
Role : CIVIL ENGINEER 233211
Medicals completed: 14 July 2020
Case officer appointed: 17 July 2020, requested further information same day (overseas police check expired, reference letters from overseas & letter from Australian Employer to show that job is still available, proof from firm to show financial capability to support the nominee)
Documents submitted to CO: 12 AUG 2020
Nomination approval: 14 AUG 2020
Requested for extension to submit visa documents: 14 AUG 2020 (Australian police check expired - took 2 weeks to be delivered, Name wrongly written on overseas police check)
Submitted documents to CO: 28 AUG 2020
Waited for nearly a month... reading the threads on this forum.
Visa status: Granted 23 SEPT 2020
All the best to those who are still waiting. I am sure you are not far from receiving your permanent residency.
Congratulation!
I am wondering how you can do overseas police check in VIC. All of ink fingerprint service has already suspended in VIC due to coronvirus.

Hello,
I am a silent reader for a while.
Today my agent lodged my application. I don't think health care professionals may have more priorities than others. Initially, my agent also thought it on this way. He confidently believed that the nomination could be approved by the mid of August. So he didn't lodge my application until now. Based on his ideas, all of 186 visa in VIC may be processed slowly due to stage 4 restriction. So we have to wait for it patiently.
It is my timeline:
Nomination: June 24, 2020-- still being processed
Application: August 19, 2020
Location: VIC
Onshore 2, offshore 1
Occupation: sonographer
Passport: Canada.
