finally immigration opened my 186 nomination application and asked followed information :
Availability of Position
The department has become aware of potential changes to employment conditions as
a result of the COVID-19 situation.
Please provide an updated confirmation letter, from the employer, that the nominated
position of Motor Mechanic (General) 321211 is still available to ********, **********
(**/**/****) on a full-time basis for a further 2 years, and no changes have been made to
the employment conditions and entitlements.
Please attach the requested information to the` online application, within 7 days from today. So, is the 2 years requirement counted from the date of Nomination approval? Will they request another confirmation letter again before visa approval?

Just thought I'll share this in case it helps or clears some doubts.
If your police clearances Australian or overseas have expired or if health examination conducted has expired - as of the current situation, you need NOT go and do all that over again. Its better saving the hassle/money and waiting for a RFI from the department. They seem to be a bit understanding that due to COVID, processing has slowed down and documents like police clearances/health examinations may cross validity.
By experience, our Australian police checks, overseas police checks and health examination expired by over 2 months and the visa status went straight from "Received" to "Granted" without and RFI in the entire application process.
In fact we just got our new Australian police clearances and overseas police clearances letters late last week and our MA was going to upload the new documents later today but he received the grant notice early this morning.
Hope this helps ease some of your anxiety..!!!
This is really helpful. Thanks mate.
All my PCC and health checks are going to expire in two months. Perhaps I should wait then.
We can imagine the enormous backlog that DHA is facing right now, and the workload that CO's are doing. So keep calm and wait.

When you got the visa granted, how many months left on your contract?

Are you sure? My MA said it is not required!
Your Mara was right. TRT does not need skill assessment. Only DE does.

Good information
One question please,
I asked my MA to give me Immi Account details but she said She can't give me the details because she lodge all applications through one account. What if I import like this, and would she be able to access my account. I mean if there is any update in my account she has the access or not.
Thanks
Ofcourse nobody will share their own Immi account details (would you share your facebook acc?), and certainly that nobody can access or see your account. The only shared information is the application itself (shared via TFN). Any change to the application made by one party will be seen by the other.

Importing the application to our Immi account when Agent is managing everything, do u think that will have any impact to how he has been managing i.e Some notification will go to him? or Department ability to communicate with agent
All communications are addressed to the one that submit the application, which is the agent in this case. Note that although you can update details of the application yourself, it is highly not recommended. Every changes should be thru the Agent.

How do you know if the nomination has been approved and a case officer has been assigned?
Thanks!
For Nomination, you can only check with your Mara.

Can someone please tell me how to see the application myself while it's all through a MA?
Thanks!
Ask your MARA for the Transaction Reference Number (TRN), then you can import the application into your ImmiAccount
1. login to ImmiAccount.
2. select 'Import Application'
3. enter the main applicant's: application ID or Transaction Reference Number (TRN) date of birth. passport number and country.
4, select 'Confirm' -

That’s interesting scenario. It entirely depends how CO interprets! It doesn’t give any sense that the validity is upto 3 years for other purposes but 1 year for partner’s English ability. But this is what written in DOHA website “ In the 12 months before you applied for the visa, you scored one of the following:“ ———
Yeah, DHA should add that if someone scored at least Vocational English in the past 3 years, it is enough to fulfill the Funtional English requirement.
Wow, if this would be the case, then we just wasted 350 bucks.

FOI, English test for the evidence of functional English ability for secondary visa applicants is valid for only 1 year. It might be valid for 3 years for other immigration purposes but not for partner’s functional English ability.
Oh yeah, forgot about this functional English. Please ignore my previous reply.
Just curious, if someone has Proficient English, does he need to take another test after one year to fulfill the functional English requirement?

Hello Friends,
just wanted to ask you that my MA is asking to do police check for my visa as I’ve done my AFP check last year in Nov 2019. So Is police check from my home country necessary and the place where I was leaving overseas? Or CO can process without having overseas?
Your prompt response would be highly appreciated...Thanks
DHA: We may ask you to provide a police certificate from every country you lived in for at least 12 months in the past 10 years. Police certificates are valid for 12 months from the issue date.
If you dont want to delay your visa grant, apply PPC asap.

Hi,
I am newbie to this website. Lodged my application on 28/7. How long does it take to get the case officer assigned?
Nomination application is lodged by migration agent. Can we see the status of nomination based on the TR or do we need to ask the MA only?
Visa : 186 TR
Nomination and Visa Applied - 28-Jul-2020
Medicals - Were cleared as part of 482 visa
Onshore : Yes
Role : Software Engineer
Visa Status - Received
You cant' import nomination application. Check with your agent only.
I'm also curious about the medical exam. Did you take full check (including HIV) for 482, and how old was it?

Depends on country of issue as well, use your instinct along with current processing time for pcc for the specific country considering any Covid delays as well.
Renewing is just a suggestion if you are ok parting with smaller amount so as to avoid RFI for just pcc, it is not mandatory CO would ask for a new one every case.
I have got mine updated a week before it got expired which was actually last month
Did the CO request or you just proactively renewed and submitted it? At the moment, it is really difficult to get an oversea PCC.
-

Guys would be good idea to keep docs updated if expired, especially police clearance certificates.can avoid RFI related to same, I had done the same.
My PCC will expire in 2 months. Do you think I should renew it as the CO may request?

By the way, is MA from Ernst & Young (EY) good?

Yes that is where my company fits in.... But I guess accredited sponsorship has less effect on 186 applications. It is mainly for 482 visa, to fast track those visa, Mine has come in couple of days when I had applied.
I guess my application got lost in the pile.
That makes sense. We are in same boat now. My offshore 482 was also finalised in 5 days.
No worry, if you look around (this forum and expat forum), it seems they are moving the backlog now. A lot decisions(approval or refusal) for various kind of visas have been made recently.

Never heard of accredited BIG sponsor. I guess even if there is something like that I am pretty much sure my employer would come in that category.
How about company with revenue > $1B? That is how the sponsors are classified. How about your company?
-
2 hours ago, devProgrammer said:
I guess it doesn't matter... Mine is accredited sponsor still file not picked up 7 months and counting.
It should be "accredited BIG sponsor". There are about 3000 accredited sponsors, and they are not at the same level. I suspect top 10% will be processed first.

From date of visa approval.
If you had only transferred your 457/482 visa to your current sponsor (who also is the nominator for your 186/187 TRT), then the 2 years start from the date of nomination approval.
Thanks mate.
I am going for 186 DE. My contract is 3 years, 7 months has gone. Now I am concerned that my visa grant might not be made in 5 months time. Anyone experience this?
