Your employer will need to engage a migration agent to complete their part of the visa application (they'd be very unwise to attempt it without an agent, unless they are highly experienced in visa applications. The failure rate for companies who DIY is very high, because it's so complex). That agent should consult with the company to agree what category is appropriate for the role they have available.
Yes the company got its own lawyers

I am current working as a management consultant (Supply chain and operations) close to completing one year. I have finally got my employer to sponsor 186 (direct entry).
I need some advice on getting skill assessment and which category should I apply ?
All my career I have been involved in improving operations - before Australia it was in the manufacturing sector , in Australia its in the health sector.I have an existing skill assessment as a production engineer, but haven't been able to get my work experience assessed previously.
Can I use my skill assessment with Engineers Australia as production engineer and get my work experience also assessed ?
or
Should I get a new skills assessment as a Management consultant (operations) ? both would cost me approximately the same.to lodge my 186 visa.

I have 90 points and have my EOI for almost 2 yrs , no invitation yet, I generally dont trust immigration agents, if u spend time reading the website and the application guidlines u can pretty much do their job. If u dont have time then pay for the agent

They need to be a sponsor to nominate you, but can be applied at the same time when you apply 186.

Around 3-5k for company and if you bear the cost then it would be 12-14k including agent fees and visa fees
Thanks for the information.

They also have to pay into a special fund as well as the nomination fee which can be upto 5000$ depending on business size/turnover
Thanks once again !

That depends on the size of the business its all on the home affairs site under the 186 visa details
Thank you so much. Appreciate your efforts in taking time to answer my questions.
just to clarify - Employer nomination fees is paid by the employer and the base applicant fee is paid by us right ? -

You aren't allowed to pay the company side of it only your visa and the agent fees if using.
How much do you think the company has to pay?

Probably that your not legally expected to stay with employer for 2 years and they could spend the money just to have you walk away...(although it wouldn't look good for you)
What if I say to them that I will be happy to share the cost?
