  1. We decided to move to Australia at the beginning of the 1st lockdown. I previously lived in aus for two years on a working holiday visa and dont even think i had a conversation about going there with my parents, it wasnt very well planned in all honesty.

this time was a lot different i brought my oh back from aus with me 7 years ago and two kids later we're heading back. Telling my mam and dad our plans was one of the hardest things ive had to do. Made it worse that we couldnt do it in person because of lockdown.

i think its best to bite the bullet and let them know, i remember stressing and feeling sick about telling them but as soon as i did it was a weight off.

my parents are really close with my little girls and i know it breaks their hearts but youve got to do whats right for yourself and your family.
in terms of timing i told them before i had applied for the visa, felt best for us but i think each to their own with that 1

  2. Hi. I applied for my daughters to get the citizenship. I got an email in a couple of weeks saying they were approved and I can apply for a passport using the reference given in the approval email.
We had to apply for the certificate separately. This is still yet to come and has been about 2 months.

    hope this helps

  3. Sorry if there is an active thread for this already. I’ve been granted my visa for Australia and fly out 6/12/21 (hopefully).

which forms do I have to complete before I travel? Is it just the Australia travel declaration?

on the form it says only submit 7 days before you travel, is this correct?

    thanks

  4. Hi all.

ive worked my way partner visa, got to the bottom of my sponsors citizenship and completed all the pages on form.

paid the cost involved and now it has a page where it’s requesting documents about myself, my partner, Mam dad and siblings.

what sort of information are they needing here? Just passport details and proof their address like driving license? Or are they wanting every bit of supporting evidence of our relationship?

appreciate any help as I’m so overwhelmed by the whole process.

    thanks

  5. Hi everyone.

We’re going to be applying for our spouse visa in the next month or so and just want to be prepared for what we need.

already completed the forms online but yet to submit.

regarding evidence the things I have got ready are

Copies of social media messages between the two of us.

    photos together

letters from friends about our relationship

    evidence of family holidays

    joint bank statements

    our kids birth certificates

    Driving licenses

council tax bills and water bills.

I can’t provide a rental agreement or mortgage as we don’t have 1, as my dad owns the house we live in, phone bills are in my name and we don’t have any other joint accounts.

is there anything that people can see that I’ve missed?

    thanks

  6. I don’t think she does. Nz have a reciprocal agreement with Australia that allows freedom of movement and right to work. On the application there’s a box where you can select eligible nz citizen.

i was hoping there might be someone else who was in the same situation as ourselves but I think it’s a long shot haha

  7. Hi. I would appreciate any help anyone can offer regarding this.

I’m a UK citizen by birth and my partner is a NZ passport holder but born in Oz and lived there till she was 23.

we have two children together who will both be nz passport holders.

weve decided to move to Australia and going through the paperwork for the visa and need all the help we can get.  It advises on immigration website between 14-20 does anyone know if this is accurate?
also if and when the visa is approved how long do you have to enter Australia.
we can’t leave the UK until December 2021 at the earliest.

appreciate any other advice people would like to give that they think might be relevant.

    thanks
