Oh my god! I’m in the same boat but didn’t think they would approve for that kind of reason and i’ve been worried I won’t get my ceremony in time! Any chance for me to ask how to asked them? Did you give lots of details or just stated you needed it to be eligible for maternity leave?

just wanted to share my timeline:

State: Western Australia. Council: City of Vincent

Applied for citizenship: 25/03/21

Citizenship Test: 18/05/21

Citizenship Approved: 18/05/21 (within 2hrs of test)

So happy to be nearly at the end of this journey after 6 bloody long years! Just getting impatient now and I wanted to know from those who are already booked for their ceremonies, did you receive a letter/email from immigration saying your application was approved + a different letter/email from your council/shire for the ceremony or was it all together?!

Hi, no we did not send anything when we applied for the appeal. We waited until they opened the case then they asked for some documents. To be honest they asked for updated financial status documents and stuff we had already provided when i applied for the visa in 2016. They basically asked for documents which would negate the basis on which my nomination was refused originally. 
I guess it would be different for everyone depending on what grounds they refused someone on the original application.
