The latest visa numbers announced in the budget represent the number of specific visa types which can be approved in the current program year (to June 2021).

So, yes, it will effect those not yet grated a visa.

    Hi Raul,

I received the state nomination and invitation in Nov/Dec 2019. And I lodged my PR VISA 190 application on 1st Feb 2020. So do you mean that this is also included in the current program year (Jul2020-Jun2021).

    Kindly clarify.

    Thank you

    Alan

I’m in the same boat, applied start of Dec for NSW 190, not heard anything. I’m glad we didn’t front load the HC & PC’s now, as I’m on month 7 without a case officer assigned.

This could be a long road, I just hope everything is going to be ok with the applications.

    Hi Joe/Rose,

Do you think if we have front loaded the HC & PC's , will DHA ask for them again if these documents expire before they process our application... I thought once we have submitted they will not do that..

    Thank you

    Hi Alan,

At the moment processing of visa applications (especially off shore applications) has become very erratic.

It is possible that the processing of your visa application will be slow due to the current covid19 crisis. It is early days yet, so only time will tell.

    Good luck.

    Hi Raul,

    Thanks a lot. Much appreciated.

    Kind Regards,

    Alan

Considering the current situation, your focus should be on actually obtaining the subclass 190 visa as this is not easy or guaranteed, especially for NSW.

HI Raul, Hope you are well. I need your advice... For me, I received the invite for 190 VISA in Nov 2019 and I have already submitted my PR application on 1st of Feb 2020. So do you think we too have a risk of getting the PR due to the current situation.

    Thank you

    Stay safe!

Check out this link (scroll down to "If you’ve applied for permanent residency"): https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/individuals/subjects/how-enrol-and-get-started-medicare/enrolling-medicare/how-enrol-medicare-if-youre-australian-permanent-resident

I think you're eligible. I enrolled with Medicare while my PR was processing, but my application was onshore.

If you want to be sure, just visit a Medicare service centre and they'll be able to guide you.

Thank you Jelly. I will check with them. It's good to get medicare, because medical is expensive in Australia

It’s not really a question of rejection. You will either be invited, or you will sit waiting in the queue until your application expires.

It depends if they decide they need accountants right now, and how many accountants there are with higher points than you

Well, thank you for clarifying Marisa. I'm hoping for the best!

  8. Hi,

I have applied for visa 190 on 1st Feb 2020, in the General Accountant category & it was an offshore application. At the time of applying I already had 1 year of experience as an accountant in Australia. In the state sponsorship invite, they have mentioned that I need to stay and work in NSW for two years. Since I already have one year experience does anyone know whether this 2 years will count that one year's experience.

Or is it 2 years live and work in NSW from the day they grant us PR.

Many people say that it takes about 8 months for them to grant PR for Accountants for visa 190. Is it true? And have ayone heard any PR visa 190 rejections for accountants.

    Thank you

    Alan

Y^our parents must make separate applications. If they apply as a group it will ensure that their individual applications will be decided at pretty much the same time and by the same processing centre.

    Thank you so much.

If you are on a bridging visa why do you want a visitor visa?

Hi, The visitor visa is for my parents. I am planning to invite them for a holiday to Australia. And as I don't have PR, I don't think I can sponsor my parents for a holiday. Further, when I checked the immi account, there was another category for tourist stream. Is that what I have to pick when applying through immi account.

And my next question is if I apply as a group application, will both of them get a visa or do I have to apply individually.

    Thank you in advance.

You should have it by the end of the year, when I applied I got CO contact after 6 months.

I would have thought that theres a good chance that your PCC will run out though.

Have you done medicals yet or are you waiting to be asked?

I have already done the medical week after I submitted my PR application. Do you know the validity of the medical. Is it one year or six months

What are the current processing times for your visa type?

If it doesnt cost much for a PCC and you think it may be border line for your approval then it mite be worth the peace of mind.

I think that it usually slows down within the next couple of months, then starts picking up in July again.

Hi Lavers, As per the immi website, it says 8-10 months for visa 190. I'm not sure about the actual time frame. I applied from offshore for the Accountant profession. But currently I am in NSW. Hope we get our PR soon, at least before end of this year.

    Hi Alan

Yes I believe that you would have to get another PCC done.

The PCC can be obtained within 10days cant they?

Also it all starts to slow down again soon regarding processing times.

In Australia yes we can get it done within 10 days. But this is the PCC from my home country. And they take about 2 months to issue a the PCC. Thank you so much for helping me out. If the process has slowed down again, I think I better apply for another PCC from home country.

  15. Hi, I obtained my overseas police clearance in July 2019, and have submitted it along with my PR application on 1st of Feb. And understand overseas police clearance is valid only for 12 months. Therefore, if the Case officer does not review the application till around July 2020, do I have to obtain another overseas police clearance.

Do you think it's wise to get another one arranged, because usually it takes couple of months get the overseas PCC. Can someone please help me on this. thank you
