Hi Bryan! So you got your PR Now? Anyway congrats but what is your visa condition? Are you still not allowed to work? I thought PR has no condition? In my case my husband is the main applicant but since Im with him here in Australia with our son, my husband give a work of rights full time and I’m not allowed to work, but  i know someone also a carer and she got her Pr and has no condition she said she can work.

    Hi Karen!

Any news with your application?Have you already got an appointment with BUPA?

Just got told from my agent that I can't get carer's allowance for the first 2 years of being PR, neither can work. 😥

If anyone know if it's true. This is really tough and strange.

    Hi Bryan!

I think that is the reason if you check the overview of the Carer Visa on DHA website  it says that,”be sponsored by a relative or spouse for the first 2 years because you won’t get Carer Allowance from Centrelink for 2 years. But I am not sure because you already been in Australia more than that.If your partner is here, ask her to look after the Caree so you can work.Read about Form 1005 you can ask to change Bridging visa conditions so you can work. But I think its only applicable when your on Bridging visa.Im not sure.Ask advice from your agent if you can do that.

    Best regards.

Where have u booked your appointment? As far as i know everywhere are booked out n the earliest is feb. So I went to Baulkham Hills for my medical check, it's the only place has appointment. If u dont mind travel may be book a bit far like Wollongong. Just check if they have vacancy afterward just cancel tge previous booking

I already did my medical examination around 3rd week of November. But Immigration also required medical examination for my wife and daughter which is in overseas.Travel within our home country is a bit difficult as there are some cities that have high covid cases. So that makes it a bit tricky. But we already have made an appointment early February. You are right Bryan that is what I did,I made a booking then check the available appointments once in a while and when you see an earlier appointment just rebook your previous appointment.I did my medical in Parramatta.

    Good Day Care_836,

We still waiting for the schedule of Medical Assessment coming from Bupa. Somebody told us the schedule might be delay because of Covid. We already submitted all the documents in Immigration. Until now we don’t know when they gonna call us for that appointment. 😞

    Hi there KarenCarer_836,

    Good day too!

I know it's quite hard to get an appointment with BUPA but the Immigration understand that.Did you already have an appointment with BUPA as of today?

Don't worry Karen we are only few requirements away.Just do the things they ask and we will be fine.

Keep us updated and also will do the same.

    Cheers Karen and best regards.

Hi Carer_836 how’s your application? Some good news from immi?

    Hi KarenCarer836,

I received a letter 1st week of November and Home Affairs asked me for a new letter from GP/Specialist to evaluate if a carer is still needed for my case. They also asked for Form 1022 and Form 40.I received a letter 2 weeks later and they ask for a new Medical Examinations for me and (my immediate family which is in overseas) and AFP Clearance also also some Stat Dec.

Didn't received a new letter recently.

How about you?Have you also received a letter? You are well within the queue period.

    Best regards.

    Thanks for your encourage!

As far as I know carer visa is part of other family visa. So they won't release any application until July this year. But there would be no update or more QD to be released If there were lot of QD which are meant to be released on last year that have not been released 😞

Let’s just pray and be expectant. As for now, we can just wait for an update and hope that there will still be available places for our visas and be granted.I know that all of us, if not most of us have been waiting for years already.Be patient. Its just around the corner.

Regards to all and I really hope we will get our carer visas soon.

    Hi

I just got updated from the website at September 2019,  Carer visa application with a queue date up to 11 October 2017 has been released for final processing, and there will be no further queue release for this visas during program year 2019-2020.

My Queue date is December 2017.  Is there any one can estimate roughly how long i have to wait !

I have been so frustrated for waiting and have been thinking to give up and go back my country, since i am on financial hardship and have to financially support my partner who is the main applicant carer and has no right to work.

    thanks !

    VISA: CARER 836

    QD: DEC 2017

    Hi Bryan!

Hang in there mate.I also felt the same way as you do.I felt discouraged at times also.I think that’s normal. But don’t give up.
Being a carer is not an easy job.I am taking care of my 88 years old grandma here in Australia for more than 4 years and my wife and daughter is still on my home country.I am hoping that I will have my visa soon. So,let’s hope and pray it will be granted to us soon.Your QD is Dec 2017 and mine is April 2018.So,I believe its just around the corner

And also, please correct me if I am wrong, but the way I see and understand the update on immigration website is that the number of visa for Remaining Relative and Aged Dependent Relative are the ones who reached the annual quota? But not for the carers visa?Does it mean that there is still a few number of visas for carers for the financial year July 2019-June 2020?Please correct me if I am wrong.
