Not similar ☹️.  Applied on july2019

    nothing happens yet

Wow you are waiting longer then mine.

I got nomination approval Jan 2020 submitted my visa straight after January 2020 and heard nothing as of yet.

But all of my colleagues who had applied end of 2019 and beginning of 2020 have their case either approved or documents requested.

I thought my case is frustrating.

  2. Micgeo I can’t believe you visa is till not granted. They asked you for “position availability” ages ago.

My Chef colleague had applied September 2019 and they just called our director 2 weeks ago asking if he is still employed and literally 1 hour later he got his PR granted.I’m same company as restaurant manager and mine file isn’t opened yet.

Anyone here in hospitality? Been waiting for my 186 for 16 months and still nothing. Last time I heard from immigration was almost a year ago to sent them my police check from my country and that's about it.

I applied august 2019 for business nomination and got nomination approved January 2020 and applied end of January 2020 for visa part.Since then no movement. As restaurant manager.

Even though with an approved nomination they aren’t processing it.You definitely aren’t alone.
Unfortunately I do believe that this won’t change until the government change their approach to immigration.

    Same here !

Restaurant manager applied  Visa applied 27.January 2019.Nomination already approved.Almost a year now.

Unfortunately I do think that they won’t go ahead with hospitality Applications until life is back to normal. We probably have to wait another 6-12months.

    * sorry I meant visa applied 27.January 2020.

Anyone here with occupation as a cook in Queensland who got approved this year ?

    • Visa : 186 TRT (2 years on 457)
    • Visa Applied - 26 November 2019
    • Nomination Applied - 18 September 2019
    • Nomination Approved - 30 October 2019
    • Medical Examination: 22 October 2019
    • State: QLD
    • No. of applicants : 3
    • Occupation: Cook
    • Visa Status - received

Isisesperante I don’t think that any chef, cook, restaurant manager has received any Grant since the start of the pandemic. And it doesn’t look like it will start any time soon.My chef colleague is waiting since last year August with an approved nomination in January.I have beeen waiting since January with an approved nomination. Our MA doesn’t sound positive either.

As usual I always stay corrected..if someone else has different info they can share..

I lodged my visa application after nomination was approved. This additional information request only came in this morning. I guess since it was more than 9 months since approval of nomination, they wanted a confirmation. I had lodged the latest payslip last month but i guess that wasn't good enough for them. Should be able to submit it tomorrow.

Great. That’s gives us hope because your occupation isn’t on the priority list either but they started to process your case.
hope you get your PR soon.

  9. I’m a restaurant manager with an approved nomination since January.it’s been 9 months and still no movement.I get that they want us priorities occupations with higher incomes etc but how long can they ignore us ? We are sponsor employed have a job and pay our taxes so I don’t understand that they pretend we don’t exist. At some point they have to give decisions about our applications too.Or announc that all applications beside PMSOL are on hold so we would stop chasing our status...

Hi guys, I have been a silent reader as well. Here is my status

    186 DE

    Position: University Lecturer

    Onshore: No

    State: ACT

Number of applicant: 4 (all offshore)

Nomination applied: before 15 April 2020

    Visa applied: 15 April 2020

Health check completed: 5 March 2020

Patricius, I am in a similar situation, although my visa was applied earlier. I was told by the agent that the Department is processing offshore 186 visa applications but quite slowly. You might check up the statistics for March-June 2020 the Department provides on the official website. The statistics, however, does not sound optimistic for us, university lecturers, because zero 186 visas were granted to offshore university lecturers during the period April-June 2020.

    Kgbspender,

how can I find the statistics on immigration website ?

i tried but can’t find any information regards Visa grant statistics?

    Hi Everyone,

I got Monday motivation news today.

My MA told me one of his applicant Chef got his nomination approval today.

This is not related to me but i think it's a good hope for hospitality related applicants.

    Hope for the best.

That’s actually great news for everyone from Hospitality industry.Im waiting as restaurant manager too since end of January with a approved nomination.

My MA told me in July that all Hospitality Cases are on hold until further notice.

If they approve nomination for a chef that means something has might has changed.

    Thats exciting!

  12. Kewalch I thin your question is a bit misunderstood. You are worried that importing your case will have impact of your MA with the immigration.

But that’s a definitely No.Importing application will allow you to see your case. And your MA will receive any communication made from your CO.
