  1. I’ve been a silent reader in this forum. Just sharing my timeline for citizenship by conferral application.

    Council: Georges River

    Lodge Date: 29 March 2021

    Invitation: 9 June 2021

Interview and Exam Schedule: 15 July 2021

Interview and Exam Rescheduled: 16 June 2021

IMMI Account Approved: 16 June 2021

Just waiting for the invitation for ceremony. Hoping those waiting for exam and interview will get theirs soon. It seems that processing is pretty quick this days.

But then the question remains, what is considered a straightforward application? My application seems pretty straightforward to me since I've submitted all the required docs and all the checks are done but here I am still waiting since Aug and both Visa and nomination are still showing Received. On the plus side, I'm seeing more visa grants from August recently so hopefully our time will come soon!

Also another question, I've noticed some people mentioning High Risk or Low Risk for their countries. Where does one view this list of countries?

I'm not sure but looks like tis refers to risk of tuberculosis. You may find the list of countries here.

Hi all my dear friend ,

After nearly 7 years since I moved here or 2587 days to be more precise I’ve got my PR granted yesterday!:)!:)

Can’t describe my feeling at the moment , so happy and proud of this I can easily say the biggest achievement in my life! After 2 student visas, 485 visa, after that 457 visa finally was turn for 186 DE permanent visa 🙂 It took lot of effort , lot of sacrifice, blood and tears definitely, working such a hard work for all of this years , spending money for the educations, visas, lawyers, skill assessment but at the end it’s definitely worthed! It’s worthed cuz I love this country soo much :)!

Thanks for all of you guys for your support and advices I have received on this forum, I can tell you one thing for sure, don’t give up never, and stay positive because tomorrow or next week you can be the next one 😉

cheers , it’s time to finally open MOËT Champagne to celebrate this the best Christmas present ever 💪 🙂

    My timeline:

Visa and nomination submitted at the same time in June 2019.

Medical and AFP check Immigration requested on a 28th of October

Medical and AFP check cleared on 4th of November

Visa and nomination granted yesterday 4th of December!!!!

    occupation: Mettal fabricator/Boilermaker

Congratulations! I remember reading some of your post and feel happy you finally got yours. Happy christmas indeed!

Hello, may I ask when did immi approved your nomination? That was pretty quick😊

I guess that's possible because I know someone who got approved both nomination and grant in two days which both our MA's and company's mobility consultant can't believe the turn around time. I think it is case by case because I still don't have mine.

That's not possible. You have to lodge nomination first because you need the nomination number to lodge visa application. I don't think you can see nomination status in your immi account anyway

So i guess they lodged both at the same time. Had the nomination approved but visa didnt get assessed at the same time. Thanks.

  7. Can you see nomination approval on immi account? I had my nomination approved according to my MA but not sure if this can be seen anywhere or somehow linked to the visa application. My nomination was submitted after I lodged the visa. Just thinking that it may got lost somewhere and not linked at all.

Thanks Swoop! My MA was prompt to lodge the visa application as soon as I completed the documents they were asking but the nomination was submitted, I guess,  few days after because the person in charge in our company was away for holidays. Good luck to all of us waiting for the golden email.

I'm just concern that the skill i'm transitioning for is no longer on the skilled list. I'm on 457 which got approved prior to April 2017 transitioning to PR. My MA said that it should be fine as long as the employer is willing to sponsor.

It depends whether your nomination and visa are being assessed together. There is no way to know but to wait.

If yes, lucky you! That seems to be anything from immediate decision up to a couple of weeks (longer if they have to request more documents).

If they are assessed separately, there is no "usual" turn around. Some are quick (weeks), some are in excess of 6 months from the look of it, and I think a few can even take much longer than that. If you check the spreadsheet you will see some examples of different waiting times between nomination and visa decision.

I would recommend not stressing out about it! My nomination was approved back in August, so I thought that meant the visa would be decided soon... but here I am, still waiting ☹️

Thanks Swoop! My MA was prompt to lodge the visa application as soon as I completed the documents they were asking but the nomination was submitted, I guess,  few days after because the person in charge in our company was away for holidays. Good luck to all of us waiting for the golden email.
