Hi all
Have been watching but not participating and wanted to update you all on our extremely QUICK approval! My husband is Irish, I am Australian and we have been together 7 years, married for 6 months and have a baby on the way.
Visa lodged: 17th Jan 2020
RFI: 12th Feb 2020
Provided RFI: 9th Mar 2020
309/100 Visas Granted: 12th Mar 2020
8 weeks from start to finish!!! Fully front loaded, the RFI related to police checks for my husband as his name had changed (dropped his middle name) and a statement with regards to countries lived in over the past 10 years (I think we gave too much information on our travel over Europe). We were expecting a long wait but can now plan our exit from Ireland much more comfortably
Best of luck to all who are waiting!
That's great for you. I have no idea how they can do it so quick for some, my wife's application is still showing as received as the status, which it has for 6 months. Did you lodge through the London office?

Just got an RFI! Kicking myself as it was the sponsor document I hadn’t yet submitted!
Have submitted now, but relieved to see the application has been looked at. We front loaded all and have not used an agent.
Submitted: 25th March
RFI: Jan 21
What doc was it?

When I looked just now, it's still at 17- 20 months...?
yeah, it's actually down a month at the upper end, from 21 to 20 months. Still a ridiculously long time, looking through the thread on removalists and 18 months ago the timeframe for processing visas was 6 months for those lucky people.
I really wish I'd looked into the visa earlier, instead of assuming it would be similar to the UK for partners.

just did my daily log in to check if i had missed an email and now the time frame is saying 16-21 months - looks like the delays are having an impact on that now.
Also just noticed a new section on bridging visas - has anyone else got this?
fingers crossed we get some more movement this coming week for some of the 2019 applications.
Have a good weekend everyone
I haven't noticed the section on bridging visas, where was that?

Hi All,
Another newbie here, looking to move back to Melbourne in the new year with my British wife and our newborn son (been together 7 years, married for 4, 3 month old son). I certainly wish we'd looked into the visa earlier, I'd assumed it would be a similar timeframe to complete as the UK, but oh well, can't change it now. We submitted our applications yesterday (6th October), and will be moving in Feb.

Processing times have been changed down to 12-18 months, lets hope based on that and the new financial year there's more movement with processing!
