Well if they stamp his passport with a visit visa which is 6 months and he is there longer, when i come to use his Australian passport to visit Australia they will see that he overstayed his visit. 

Thanks everyone. I will cancel and apply for a new one if it doesn't come in time, can i get him an emergancy passport, would that work?

If i want to bring him back to oz for a holiday and use his Australian passport won't i get into trouble as they will see that he was only ment to stay in the UK for 6 months. 

Thankyou for your reply, if he gets a visit visa doesn't that mean he will have to leave on that passport. How do you prove residency, he will be starting school in October would that help prove residency. 

Hi, i have been living in Australia for 11 years moved here when i was 15, i have a 4 year old son born here in Australia. We are moving back to UK in 5 weeks and through the packing and cleanup i cannot find his british passport anywhere (was never used). He has an Australian passport but i am unsure on entering UK with his Aussie passport and i don't have enought time to get him a new british one. Will they only grant him 6 months stay in UK? Or is he fine due to automatically being a british citizen through decent. I have been reading up and getting different answers.

Charlie77 how did you go with the move? Did you have trouble entering UK with childrens Australian passports.

I am in the same dilema, my son did have British passport never used but i cannot find it anywhere and we are moving in 5 weeks, i only have his Australian passport to move there with.
