Thank you for your advice, wisdom and honest feedback.
Yes I am very concerned about the TSS visa. and weighing it out at all different angles.
We haven’t yet got the Visa and in the process of possibly applying hence all my analysis and questions
I have read that the Med-long term visa grants a pathway to PR after 3-4 years is this not true? I thought that this was gaurenteed.
Im looking at other options that will lead to PR but it is getting more difficult as the months move on, especially with the points ranked so high at this present moment.
Any other advice ?

Yes I am a legal resident of the UK.
Re. Bupa - that’s good to know
Are there any other benefits for UK citizens moving to the Auz

Hi
Do British Citizens have access to Medicare while being on a TSS visa?
I read the Aus and UK have a reciprocal agreement which entitles healthcare.
Can you please confirm what entitlements of Medicare does this cover?
Or am I reading this totally wrong?
Thank you

Just recently moved from Paisley, apart from the obvious to get as far away as possible from paisley, the lifestyle has played a part especially south Australia where everything seems more relaxed compared to big cities like Sydney and Melbourne. Any questions feel free to ask
Well done on the move - How are you finding it?

Thanks for the replies
so we know that Glasgow isn’t a London in terms of costs so things are quite cheaper in Glasgow compared to London.
What are the costs like in Sydney compared to Glasgow.
Aren’t you afraid of the high cost of living in Sydney compared to where you are now? -

Just to say this is only for temporary employer sponsored visas. PR sponsored visas do not incur extra school fees.
Please excuse my ignorance, but which visa types includes PR sponsored visas?
Do you mean for example the TSS visa that eventually converts to sponsorship? Or something similar?

We in the process of applying to go to NSW - Sydney (hopefully) and weighing out the pros and cons
My daughter is currently in P4 so the equivalent grade in Aus
Is upward of $5000 include books, text books etc, Are there any rebates from the government, like something similar to child care credits that we get in the Uk?
I know extra murals will be at an additional cost.

For those with kids that are going over on a sponsored visa by an employer - how much money will you be paying for school fees?
-
Awesome I’m in Glasgow too. East Renfrewshire to be exact.
How far are you Into the process?
What are your main reasons to move? (Aside from the weather off course ) We know Glasgow isn’t a London. It’s not as expensive, people are a lot friendlier, not congested, good healthcare and schooling.... -
As the title states - anyone from Scotland? Edinburgh/ Glasgow?
-
Thanks for replying
Yes in the process of trying to get SA and IELTS sorted. Ive done IELTS before in 2015 but it’s not valid now
Do you reckon the changes in Nov would work in our favour? Seems like the points requirements are just rising sadly.
I am tempted to also try the new 491 visa too... need to read more on that though

As the title states, I’ve done a points calculator and we sum up to 80 points (being positive and hoping for the best)
What are the chances of getting an invite this year still will either the 189/190?
This would be for the software engineering route.
Any experiences?

Will do, thank you again

Thank you Paul
Right, need to get started now.
Seeing that the last applications for 190 is Sep - seems like I will need to apply for the visa that replaces it 481 (if I’m not mistaken)
In the interim I need to get going on the preparations for the 189
Ive checked for state nominations- most of them are closed at this time unfortunately
Would you recommend any other type of visa that I should consider?
-
Thank you very much for your replies
Sorry I should have given more details
Yea that’s true I will gather all of the docs. Do you know roughly how long it will take to assess our skills? Just from your experience?
Ive completed an IELTS test 4 years ago when I moved from South Africa to the UK. Will that still be valid or would I need to take another test?
Where should I check to see which states are sponsoring?
Are the changes in Nov in favour of immigrants and any specific visa type?
Thank you

Hi all
i am currently in the UK and looking to move to Austrailia with my family.
For now - and with the little reading I have done it looks like the 189 or the 190 visa are my better options.
I have roughly tallied up some points and it seems we are around the 75 marker..ish
Which would be the the better visa to apply for right now such that it’s more favourable to the points that I have.
I have also read that there will be changes in Nov. Would you suggest me waiting and aubmitting my EOI in Nov? After the changes have been implemented?
We also have not yet had our skills assessed - can you advise how long does the institution take to come back with a response? Both my husband and I have IT back grounds?
Would you suggest me sending an EOI now without the skills being assessed? Or should I wait for the skills to be assessed first then submit my EOI - I’m abit concerned that I may not get the assessment back in time (just incase I get an invite to apply
Any advice welcome. We are just starting this process and already it is so over whelming
Thank You

Thanks everyone for the advice.
Totally get what you saying. Will keep my options open, and I will keep on exploring the various alternatives.
189/190 sounds like a dream especially with the high scores. But I guess we will never know what the future holds
