Hi all,
I will soon apply for Subclass 600 visitor visa for my parents. As I will be lodging the application on their behalf (Tourist stream), I will need to provide my bank statement, stating that I'll bare their food and accommodation cost. However since I recently bought a home my bank balance is quite low (less than $10k). Would this be an issue? I will also be providing my payslips (my salary is in the low end of 6-figures).

My partner and i passed our citizenship test today. She received a confirmation of pass email about an hour after the test, however I have not yet. Does anybody know how long it might take to receive this email? Thanks.

It should not only if you receive a court notice you need to update them , however during the interview they might ask you for any traffic fine and make sure you tell them about your recent fine and that’s it , don’t worry
Thank you so much.

Hi all, does having a speeding fine/demerit point impair the citizenship interview in any way? My driving has been spotless up until recently where I got a speeding fine and 3 demerit point. Just a bit worried if it will impact the interview.

Victorians are getting test invitations for Jan 2021 applications as per immitracker.

That's good to know. Sounds like there's still a bit of a wait for us who applied in June then...

Application date: 30th June 2021 from Melbourne.
Status on Immi is still showing as Received. It's been 9 months now. Anyone else on the same boat as me? -

Yeah, applied 23/11/2020, only got my appointment letter last week, but still shows as received in immi. That won’t change until after the appointment/test, from what I’ve gathered.
Wow that's a pretty long wait. How is it people who applied mid-2021 from Vic/NSW got their letter already?

Hi everyone, upon lodging my application, I've realised that I've made a small error (put the wrong state name in one of the previous addresses). What is the process for making amendments to the citizenship application? Thanks.

Since lodging my application in June 2021, my immi account shows the status of the application as Received. When it moves to the next stage, will it get updated to something else? How do they normally notify the applicant of such things?

Hi everyone, I've made my application last month. The Application Status in my IMMI account is currently Received. Does it normally change to something else when it progresses to the next step? Is that the only way to track the progress, or do we get email notification as well?
Thanks!

Hi all,
Finally got round to applying for citizenship (was eligible Feb 2019!!!), timeline below:
Application submitted: 14/04/21
Appointment email received: 15/06/21
Interview & Test: 01/07/21
Approved: 01/07/21 (told I would receive letter in post to confirm approval in approx 3 weeks)
Ceremony: TBC (advised wait time is currently 6-8months)
Congrats! Did you have to provide additional documents besides the basic ones they ask for during the application? Also, where did you apply from?
-
Hi everyone, I lodged my application yesterday with scans of the following docs:
Identity declaration
Photo (back/front)
Passport
Birth certificate
Driver's license
Now there is an option for uploading Other Documents after submission. Should I add anything there, if so, what?
Thanks -
What's the processing time like on average for people applying from Melbourne? I just lodged mine today.

Normally you only need the first page of your bank statement as proof of address as that is the one with your address on it. Bank statements normally have an issue date (it's the date they were printed by the Bank) but of course not an expiry date. Are you sure the expiry date is a compulsory field?
Thanks I found the issue date and it does let me go to the next screen. But are you sure only first page will suffice? On the first page it does say page 1 of X, meaning there are more. Would that cause issue with immigration?
edit:
Actually just realised I can upload each page separately

Some of these fields may not be applicable for a bank statement, but all the fields appear whichever document you select. Just fill in the ones you have and leave blank any that aren't on the bank statement if it lets you. The Bank Statement will have a Bank Statement number which is the Document Reference Number, and you will have a date of birth even if it's not shown on the bank statement plus the bank will have an address in a particular country even if the name of the country isn't written on the bank statement so you can fill in all of those if it is insisting on them even if they aren't written on the bank statement.
Thanks. I'm still not sure what issue/expiration date should be for a bank statement. Is it the period for which the statement is generated for?
BTW, I'm not even being able to attach my bank statement (its 5 pages long). I get this error Unable to attach the PDF file provided. The number of pages will exceed the attachment limit.

Hi, I'm applying for Australian citizenship through the IMMI portal online. On the Identity Documents screen (Evidence of current residential address) there are options for Bank Statement and Rental Contract (among others). However if I click on any one of those, the form I get are asking for Passport related documents. I'm not sure how why those would be relevant if I choose Bank statement/Rental contract as my option.
Would appreciate if someone who's applied for citizenship online can clarify.
I've attached an image for reference.

Hi, I have thyroid nodule, with good biopsy result fortunately, but still under high risk of cancerous, and been on medication and regular doctor visits. I declared it when filling the HAP ID, and I asked my specialist to have a report on my condition, including the prognosis. I submitted the report to Panel doctor, my health check was cleared without any further tests required. Actually I did contact George Lombard before the health check (330 AUD) and he was positive about my case.
I suppose the specialist report is quite important.
Any reason people are specifically asking to contact George Lombard?

The general advice is that if ever there is a medical issue, it is worth speaking to a specialist agent such as George Lombard
I already am applying through a registered agent. He suggested that we should talk to her thyroid specialist to get an idea of her prognosis. We checked that the cost of the medication is minimal. He cited an incident when someone with dementia (I know its far worse than thyroid) was forced to withdraw their application (with fear of refusal) as his doctor gave a negative report to the dept. of immigration when they asked for prognosis of his condition.

Thanks for the reply. Did you mention in your application that you are actively taking medicine?
Just on another note, my agent also suggested that we should get some testimonies from friend/family (Form 888 -Statutory declaration by a supporting witness. in relation to a Partner or Prospective Marriage). Do you guys think it's necessary? We've been married since 2016 and living together since early 2018. We've already included wedding album, marriage certificate etc. Thanks!

I have an underactive thyroid and have been on levothyroxine for 10 years. The doctor that carried out my medical didn’t seem the least bit concerned and it didn’t impact my visa in any way. If your wife’s condition is more complex then you may wish to follow the advice above and contact an agent. Good luck with the visa process
Did you mention in your application that you are actively taking medicine?
Also, thank you so much for all the response guys!
