If you have undergone at least 4 years of university education in one of the AITSL approved countries, then you don't need IELTS for skills, but you may need it for the visa application as you'll want the points, as well as to meet state requirements. In this case, it's the General IELTS test you would need.

Early childhood Teacher is on the list but to get a positive skills assessment you would need 4 years of university. 3yr Bachelor followed by one year PGCE which includes at least 45 days supervised teaching practice.

Asesssments are carried out by AITSL so perhaps take a look at their website and factsheets.

From my years involved in the process, the entire system will probably be unrecognisable in three years time to what it is now.

Even if you don't need ilets for the skills assessment at the moment, you will probably need it for points as you won't have any experience points.

Thx for your information . I am willing to take ielts test due to adding points to immigrate here. However, the ielts score for the skill assessment is 7788 that is a hugh challenge to me , i dont think i can get this high score.

  4. Hi everyone,

I have a confused question about the skill assessment to be a qualified early childhood teacher ?!

I got a diploma of early childhood and care a year ago and planning to study the Bachelor of Education of early childhood teaching for 3 full years in the forthcoming year. Do I need to provide the ielts score to "Aitsl" for processing the skilled assessment after I finish my uni??Of coz I want to exempt the ielts score if possible !! Please anyone cam give me some advices 🙏🙏
