Thats a very good news many congratulations to you. Just a question did u receive that email regarding the allocation of decision maker shortly? From DoHa

Thanks - no, I didn't. I also didn't wait for medicals etc to be requested but just uploaded them when I applied.

@Suusz, I really hope you get some news soon. I know it must be hard to hear other people's news when you are still waiting (I had so many months of nightmares getting my nomination in, and with the original 457 application,  I can only imagine what 2 years of that is like).

I hope whatever is happening means that everyone's timelines move forward faster than before though. All the best!

  2. I just want to say, so much respect for all of you waiting for so long already - it's only been one tiny week for me, and it's so hard not to think about it constantly and check/ google obsessively.

You have all done so much to just get here and be waiting, well done to all of us! 🙂

I wish you all good news soon

  3. I'm having a sudden panic about this, any shared experience would be appreciated:

I had a hip replacement after a car accident 4 years ago. Totally functional now.

I've suddenly realised this may exclude me form PR if they assess me as posing "significant healthcare and community service costs"

Has anyone been granted a PR visa despite having had a joint (knee or hip I guess) replacement previously??

  4. Finally got all my docs together to hit submit today, thanks to all the advice in this thread - thanks to the contributors!

Still waiting on a police clearance, but perhaps they won't ask for it seeing as I haven't returned to my country since arriving on my original 457. Good luck everyone

    🤞

    Hi, everyone,

My normination was approved on 26th Feburary 2019, after exactly 9 months waiting. At the same day, I was requested further documents on relationship proof and they were sent on 1st March 2019. Do you think there is high chance of visa granted at the end of this month?

    @HarryWong

Congrats! Can I ask what docs they asked for re. relationship? Had you already provided some and they asked for more? (trying to figure out how much to submit) Thanks!

    Hi,

If you apply for the 186 visa before your 457 expires you will be then be placed on BVA when your 457 expires. So if you are travelling prior to 457 expiring that is fine as you are still holding 457 visa.  Once it expires in June - any travel out of Australia until 186 is granted you will then need to apply for BVB to travel.

If however you apply for the 186 after your 457 visa expires you will be on a BVC and will have no travel condition.

    Thank you! (& SAJ.N)

  7. Can anyone help with a bridging visa Q - I've searched but not clear on it:

I'm on a 457 that expires in June, about to apply for 186 (nomination approved).

I want to travel in April - will I need a bridging visa B to travel straight away any time after I've lodged my application, or only after June when my 457 expires?

    Hey all,

My visa status currently under "Further Assesment" after I had to supply further documents.

I'm currently planning to go on holiday outside the country over the Easter break and would, therefore, need to apply for a BVB visa.

Does anybody know if the BVB application would influence the current further assessment?
Either in a positive or negative way ..

@Kiwibayer what further docs did they ask for? Fingers crossed for you.

Based on my personal experience, When Immigration asked us twice 🤨 to prove that our marriage is genuine ,We provided Marriage Certificate,Joint bank account, Pictures with family and friends, Witness statement from 2 PR or Citizen with JP Stamp and a document which we explained how we met with pictures, locations, date. Yeah it was pretty awkward they asked twice however none of us is Aussie!!!

Wow - it sounds like you are already in oz - does that mean your partner was already on your existing visa as a secondary and they still asked you to prove it again twice?? Yikes

  10. Hi all, a question about de facto evidence:

The agent I spoke to indicated that the evidence required to prove a de facto partner included on this visa type is less than for a partner visa, but the only info I can find online relates to partner visas.

Can anyone tell me if you need to go to the lengths of getting stat decs from friends etc, putting together pictures etc for a partner on a 186?

We're already in oz on my 457 but don't have many friends here. We do have a join homeloan in our home country though, he's on my insurance, and both bank documents list the same address.

    Any thoughts appreciated.
