@Kiwibayer we are in the same boat . Waiting for CO to look back into our file . Hopefully they have the MOJ consent back now . Mine is being processed by ViC Pese

    Details in my signature .

Interesting, have you seen any indication on how long the MOJ consent takes?
    haven't considered this at all.

Did you use that fast method? I think you can only get a clean state certificate if you use third party service, not a full record one. However DoHA requires a full record one.

    I used both options.

There is another paper that immigration requires you to sign that allows them to get in contact with MOJ for further clarifications if required.
Your CO should tell you if that's required.

anyways, there isn't really any point in trying to speed this up as the department of immigration doesn't seem to look at the files till 28 days after request (or over 40 days in my case).

Hey. Did they only request for updated NZ police certificate? I’m not sure how long it takes them to verify NZ police certificates, as it seems that MOJ is pretty slow.

    NZ and Australian,

I used the MOJ homepage to request it and yes it's slow.
However, unlike Australia, NZ has methods to speed things up.

i.e. you can get a faster MOJ via https://www.veritascheck.co.nz/faq
It will cost you a bit more though.

I was requested for police cert on 21/3, which I supplied on 28/3. But it seems they will check it after 28 days as my status has not changed since (last updated 8/3).

    but don't bet on it

I was asked for updated police certs on the 28th of Feb; uploaded everything by the 8th of March.
    Still waiting ...

    41 days so far

Mine request document 26 Feb, provide document 1 March, change to further assessment, still waiting....

The 40 days rule nearly passed... so sad....

By the way, 40 days should be counted from request date or upload document date, Hex?

    I hear you mate,

mine were requested on the 28th of Feb, so I'm on day 35.
Let's see if we get it before day 40.

    Best of luck

Another quick question regarding the spreadsheet - should I log data according to the nomination date or the application date? I see existing data is not really consistent across the tabs.

as per your immi account, I followed the following:

Nomination Data:                 when you nominated yourself
Visa data:                              when you received the visa grant (i.e. bridging visa grant) from the department, usually via email
nomination grand date:       your MA should tell you that this happened, usually when the department picks up your files for the first time
Visa Grant data:                   when you got your golden email

This link covers this question in the FAQ, doesn't specifically state they wouldn't cancel a visa for it, but says unless there was fraud it would be unlikely.

Personally, I think you're sponsoring employer would have to Lodge a complaint for any action to be taken. So you should try leave on good terms I reckon.

this is on the same line:

The answer depends. If you applied for the 186 without a genuine intention to work for your employer for the full 2-year period, and it is determined that the application was made with fraudulent or misleading claims, then you can lose your 186.

However, if the application was made on genuine grounds, but the employment relationship has subsequently broken down, or ended due to the nature of normal staff turnover (or other standard employment issues) then your 186 will continue without any problems.

Once your 186 visa is granted, you have full permanent residency rights and therefore have no enforceable obligation that prevents you from changing your employer or your role. Generally speaking, the Department is unlikely to cancel your visa if you change employers unless you have provided false or misleading information in your visa application (as previously mentioned). It is also important to keep in mind that both you and your employer must comply with applicable Australian workplace and employment laws throughout your employment."

The article seems to suggest that if you have legitimate reason for leaving... as long as you did not plan this while you were applying for the Visa aka 2 years back ...
can somebody provide some actual examples where things went south?

Any Migration agents here that could comment on this?

We spoke to our MA today and he confirmed our suppositions that DOHA is divided into two teams now with one team processing visas from August onwards, and the second team everything before August.

well great, even fewer resources available for the ones that have been in the system for longer.

The agent I spoke to indicated that the evidence required to prove a de facto partner included on this visa type is less than for a partner visa, but the only info I can find online relates to partner visas.

Can anyone tell me if you need to go to the lengths of getting stat decs from friends etc, putting together pictures etc for a partner on a 186?

We're already in oz on my 457 but don't h

    Hey all,

My visa status currently under "Further Assesment" after I had to supply further documents.

I'm currently planning to go on holiday outside the country over the Easter break and would, therefore, need to apply for a BVB visa.

Does anybody know if the BVB application would influence the current further assessment?
Either in a positive or negative way ..

    Hi everyone.

How long does AFP police certificate value for? And what about New Zealand’s? I heard that Australian police certificate validates for 12 months, but New Zealand’s only validates for 6 months. Is that true? Thanks in advance.

Yes NZ is only valid for 6 month

my recommendation is to set yourself a timer and request a new one a month before it expires. just so you're not in the same scenario I am in where i need to wait for further assesment as my police certificates were expired.

  11. just got an email from my MA:

    "

    Good news!

Please note that the Department of Home Affairs have approved the nomination side of your permanent residency application. We have sent this on to your sponsor.

What this means is they will now move to assessing your corresponding visa application. We will let you know as soon as we have any news on your visa application. This may be soon, however we cannot guarantee this as the PR section seem to be processing a lot of nominations at the moment.

    "

I'm guessing that means I'm being assessed now.  Hurray
