  1. Hi everyone,

sorry could not update you about my wife's visa status.

Applied Offshore, my wife was in Nepal

    Lodged on march 8, 2019

CO contacted after 10 days march 18, 2019, asked for health assessment

conducted health assessment march 22, 2019

Visa Grant on April 16, 2019

Luckily, It took less then 1.5 months, i think it is totally a luck of whose file is opened first, provided documents and reopened first again. My advice to everyone here will be, gather all documents, as many as you can, and upload it at once while lodging the visa. I was planning to apply for tourist visa, but the 489 subsequent visa came just 1 hour before the i lodged the tourist visa.  I used to read all these posts and to be frank it really helps. I will suggest you to read as many document as you can but don't believe everything, call and ask immigration, go to immigration office and ask about the confusions.

I am not a migration agent, nor an expert but i know how hard it is to wait for your loved ones.....so i am sharing what i have uploaded as relationship evidence

Relationship proof of 489 family subsequent, i uploaded following things

    1. photographs of Marriage day (paste photos on word file and write small details below the photo)

    2. Photographs of Reception day (paste photos on word file and write small details below the photo)

    3. Photographs of my and my wife, make a photo story (paste photos on word file and write small details below the photo)

    4. Photographs of my wife with my family and relatives (paste photos on word file and write small details below the photo)

    5. Marriage Certificate from government

    6. Relationship proof with your family from government

    7. Travel tickets for honeymoon (flight tickets with boarding pass) and hotel booking for honeymoon

    8. Joint bank account (Open new one in the name of couple, do some transactions and scan the statement showing both names)

    9. all social media chats(facebook, whats app, viber, instagram, emails and skype video chat) screenshots (paste photos on word file and write small details below the photo)

    10. proof that you have send money to your wife account or joint account

provide details as you can, first make all documents ready and then apply and upload at a same time, and take a health assessment date after applying quickly.

Visitor visa is 50 percent chance at any cost. worth taking a risk. if you are rejected for visitor visa you have to go to the form again and tick previous visa rejected section somewhere and update it. just be aware that if 489 is decided first and then visitor visa is decided second then visitor visa will be valid, 489 will get cancelled.

    Hope it helps everyone

i am not much active in this group now, but will see the post once a week or so

My Wife is here now and we have applied 887 on June 27, 2019. is there forum or group for 887 ???

    All the Best Everyone

    Thanks,

    Pradip

Hello Everyone, I am new here. I have applied 489 subsequent entrant visa for my husband on 13/06/2018 offshore, It’s been almost 11 months so far, and we haven’t heard anything yet. We emailed and called many times to immigration, but they can’t provide any information other than your visa is still in progress. We are desperately waiting for this long and couldn’t even get an answer. My 489 visa will be expire soon and I haven’t applied 887 yet because my husband is still waiting for his 489 subsequent visa. I would like to know is it possible to apply a tourist visa for my husband at this moment? The lawyer told us it’s only 50/50 chance my husband will get the tourist visa ? Is it true? Or we just keep waiting? Anyone here have similar situation? Or anyone got tourist visa while waiting for 489?

i will be appreciated if anyone can provide some information in regards to our case.

    thank you

This is really a frustrating situation, i was thinking of applying for tourist visa, but i will be waiting till July with hope of another visa.

I am not a pro or neither i have experience in these things, but i have read a lot about these things........If you don't have other option and if it is really hard for you guys to be away then you can always apply for visitor visa. but make sure you provide the strong evidence of him getting back after short time. Make a genuine reason saying you guys need to be together for example may be in the occasion of birthday celebration, may be anniversary etc, provide his official leave approval (employment is key factor of his return), His assets, relationship proof genuine, Joint bank accounts, your letter of support, your bank transactions, your payslips, his payslips, his bank details (if applicable) and book some hotel to celebrate that or something like that (may be your agent knows it better), again visitor visa is always 50/50 but it is worth applying, coz it will cost 142 aud and 19 working days. if visa is granted that will be good, if not you have to go to your immi account and tick the previous visa rejected box, and write tourist visa.

also note that if your spouse visa comes before tourist visa, then you have to cancel your tourist visa otherwise your granted tourist visa might be in effect and spouse visa will be cancelled. so these are the things which i know. But i think you will get your visa soon coz generally immigration provides more visa at the end of financial year so lets hope for the best.

and also we may write a letter with all your conditions and your intentions and upload it to the Immi account, may be they will read that and search for your file soon. i dont know, no one knows how the system works inside.

    Good Luck

    Hi everyone,

I recently got married and my spouse holds 489 visa for SA. After marriage I applied for 489 subsequent entry visa and after that a visitor visa to go and stay with him.

We got married on 13 Jan 2019 and applied for my 489 se on 15 Feb, the CO contacted us on 27 Feb and we submitted the asked documents on 1 March.

On 8 Mar our agent applied for my visitor visa (600) using the same immi account.

Since then there has been no response from the department.

Can anyone guide me about the average processing time of visitor visa in such a case.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Mhk,

Any Updates on your visitor visa application ??

Just one question, If you applied for visiting visa and moved to australia while your 489 subsequent entrant visa is under process, Are your sure your 489 visa would be granted because you are in australia? From what i know if your 489 visa has to be granted you have to be offshore because you have applied the 489 visa offshore. This is the information i got while calling the immigration, I am not 100% sure if this is true or not. Please let me know if you have gathered any info about this. Thanks.

yeah,  the need of being onshore or offshore posted on immi website is quite confusing, but i have read few posts saying, they will check where you are before visa is granted and if someone is onshore the department will inform you about this and once you go out of country (anywhere), then the visa will be granted.

    Thanks

-Adhaar card - national identity card
    -Photograph
    -Travel insurance for tourists
-HAP ID - Health assessment details which was conducted for 489 SP

    Hi Mhk,

It generally takes 19 bussiness days for most cases, it should be there in a month doesn't take much of time. Just make sure the visitor visa comes first and 489 second, as your latest visa will be validated  i am also planning to apply for visitor visa for my wife, what documents did you submit can you share the checklists ??

    Thanks,

    Pradip

you can but it is risk and even though you have applied for tourist visa and the tourist visa cam before 489 subsequent entrant visa and if she is in australia, the 489 visa would not be granted because she has to be in india for the 489 visa to be granted. I did confirm this by calling the immigration.

Hi Santo, I too had a same thinking untill i had a chat with a guy from immigration helpline, he read the following " You can be in or outside Australia when we decide your visa application  We will let you know our decision in writing " which is from the immi website's step by step thing, little confusing

    should be in or out.jpg

Please share grant date here if you get, specially who applied in October as you may get grant soon(Hopefully).

Is there any other way to bring my wife here while 489 subsequent is under processing?

Yup Indrasena, you can always apply for your wife's visitor visa, but make sure tourist visa is decided first than only 489 visa as latest visa will be valid always, i am planning to do that soon (however it is always 50 percent chances for tourist visa, so make sure your spouse is mentally prepared for that), but it is worth risk taking the visa fee is 140 AUD and processing time is 19 business days. if visa is not granted you have to go back to your immi account and edit the part which says previously visa refused.

I think the best way to do was apply for tourist visa first and then apply onshore, but we are too late for that.

    Thanks,

    Pradip

it might take 1 week for the medicals to get  cleared and then in the site for health page in immi it would show "No action Required" it means the medical is cleared. For my wife she has done the medicals and pcc upfront before applying the visa. Waiting for the visa for close to 6 months now. In the site it is showing the estimated processing time is 7-8 months.

    Hi santo,

It is cleared now, now it seems like a long wait is it ?? so santo you have applied 6 months ago and case officer hasn't shown yet ?  may be he/she is investigating already will be a direct visa for you i wish you all the best for you. seeing a long wait i think i should apply for a wife's tourist visa.

    thanks,

Immi account says 7-8 months processing time.

Even i need help regarding this in case any delay  :-s

Hi Avneet. Please submit all the documents at once.

Evidence of relationship - Marriage certificate

affidavit stating that you both are married from your parents and her parents

    Joint bills

    Joint bank statement

Any travel tickets which has you and your wife's name ( Flight or trains or Hotel bookings)

Call records in pdf format (You can get from service provider if you pay around $60)

Some whatsapp or any chat screenshots.

    Facebook status

Photos of your marriage with relatives or family members included.

These are some documents you can submit. Ideally Marriage certificate should be enough but still they ask more documents.

SO, whatever you have submit everything.

make sure you attach PCC, Medicals before co contact. There is good chance to get direct grant soon.

    Hi Indrasena and Avneet,

as we all are in a same boat, just wanted to share my status till date.

i applied for my wife's susbequent family entrant visa (offshore) on 8th march,

CO replied with health assessment required on 22nd march,

assessment completed on 24th march 2019, Department replies with

"Health requirement – examinations ready for assessment The required health examinations have been completed and submitted by the panel clinic to the department. This person's case will be processed or referred to the department's migration medical services provider, Bupa Medical Visa Services, for further assessment"

    Hi Pradip,

I saw you recently applied for 489 subsequent for you Wofe, I am planning to do the same , can you please help with your guidance about paperwork required?

    Most important and crucial documents??

    any tips?? For SOR??

    thanks

    Hi Avneet,

Nice to hear from you, yes i applied for my wife's Visa on 8th of march. i applied by myself (i.e., providing as much as evidence i can think of), i will write the process of what i did which are as follows:

Firstly, i am immature as you, in these visa things, the more your read the more you will get an idea and my visa is not granted yet but still i am writing what i did so that it wil be guideline for you.

    1. Decide whether, you are applying inshore or offshore, i have seen inshore application granted in 4 months and offshore in around 9 months, at this moment, my application shows 7 to 8 months processing time as i applied offshore, as i am not 100% confident on tourist visa as i have got 489 and i have lived here for 1.5 years only.

    2. Create an immi account for your wife and fill the form that is approx 15 pages or more, fill the form 80 for character evidence side by side (you can get help in youtubes and other links to fill it)

    3. Once you complete the form, prepare the document and keep it in the separate folder ( they will ask for documents to upload like travel document, character evidence, relationship proof, part of family proof,  ielts, passport photo, form 80 etc (i have attached the required files), each document should be 5mb or less in size and maxm 60 proof can be uploaded.

    4. after you give the required documents (at least one), you can go to next page and pay the fee, it is approx 3755 aud for offshore if paying through credit card it will cost 50 aud more

Remember, you can upload files after you pay the fee as well, but i prefer prepare the documents first.

    5. once they will send you the received confirmation, organize the health assessment on the bottom of the application thread. you can find links to " how to organize the health assessment".

now it is a long wait (mine says 7 to 8 months), you can always apply for her tourist visa which i am going to apply soon, but i am struggling to find the exact format for applying with 489 visa of mine, confusing it is so need a help on that

    Hope it helps

    Thanks and all the best

    Hi,

Was searching for an on-going thread but couldn't find one, hence I am starting my own.

My husband has been in Australia on his 489 for the past 2 years. He recently added me on the Subsequent Entrant 489 category in Nov 2017. Since I was already here visiting him therefore we applied under the on-shore category. In early December, a case officer (CO) responded back asking for additional documents which we duly submitted within a week's time. However its been over a month now (considering holiday season), and I am still waiting for a response from the CO. Can anyone please advise how much more time it'll probably take? The Immi website says subsequent entrant 489 is not a priority category hence it'll be processed on case basis. But I just want to know someone else's personal experience!

Please do advise or share your timelines.

    Thanks!

It has been approved on end of June 2018 after 9 months. Thank God!

    Hello Jose and Sreeja,

I have read your threads and want some guidance from you.

I have been living here in Australia on 489 for the past 1.5 years. I recently got married and applied my wife's Subsequent Entrant 489 visa last week i.e., 8th march 2019. The case officer has't replied yet, may be it takes 1 month in general. Now i want to apply for my wife's visitor visa as it seems like it takes time for the outcome.

It seems like it takes 9 months in average for offshore, fingers crossed. The reason i applied for my wife's family subsequent entrant visa offshore is that I was worried about the refusal of tourist visa.

so i need little guidance for applying tourist visa for her, is it tourist visa 600 with my invitation and support letter ?? as 489 is not PR I cannot sponsor them for family sponsored tourist visa is it ?? is there any format you can help me with.

Please do advise or share links

    Thanks,

    Pradip Thapa

  16. Hello everyone,

need a suggestion, i came here in Australia on 489 visa, (family sponsorship), it has been in 1.5 years already in here. I am going to get married on 29th of jan 2019, and i want to apply her subsequent entrant visa, so my concern is, should i apply for need help in follwing cases

    1. Subsequent family entrant, and then apply for her visitor visa ( i am not sure which one and how to do that) and will she be here when her visa processing is on ?? how much will it take as it will off shore visa

    2. or should i apply for tourist visa first ( i am not sure which one ??  and how can i do that) then apply for her 489 family subsequent family entrant, will that work ?? how much time will take

    3. what is the best option to get her here quickly.
