  1. Hi,

    I need a help!

My husband is applying his citizenship. I became an Australian citizen Jan 2021 and our baby was born in Dec 2020. We were permanent residents when baby was born. I know the baby is automatically become a citizen. We didn't apply baby's evidence of citizenship certificate.

But there's a question on the husband's citizenship application " do you have any children including deceased?" If says YES , next question is "mention all the children details who's including in the application?"

This is very confused. What should we do? Baby doesn't need to be included in the application I guess.

Pls reply me as soon as possible

    Thanks!

    Hesh

But I'm worrying about it. In the appointment letter it says if you don't have originals reshedule the test. I asked my parents to send it urgently but not sure. Have you done for your test without having original birth certificate?

I am also worried about that.

My mum has posted it already but it is scheduled to arrive here just on the 29/10 and my interview/test is on the 26th.

I don't know if I should just go to the interview anyway or reschedule it to a later date when I have the original birth certificate at hand

I contacted the immigration and explained my situation. My country is going on 2nd wave of covid 19. They said bring all other docs and case will notify if they required anything later.

Now-a-days due to covid, they aren't asking for or checking any original documents except the ID card (Passport/drivers license) at the test/interview. Atleast this is what has been the case for me and for many others I've known.

But I'm worrying about it. In the appointment letter it says if you don't have originals reshedule the test. I asked my parents to send it urgently but not sure. Have you done for your test without having original birth certificate?

    Hi Mau,

I applied my citizenship 1st week of April 2020. Still did not receive any response. Do you know any updates at Canberra test center? Did they resume the test/interviews?

    Hi,

i guess you need to submit the revised birth Registration & birth certificate. And you need to update all the official legal details as well as identity documents though i am not sure about it 100%. As it creates complex situation to any decision maker.
or other side leave it for now, let the citizenship application get processed and update it afterwards.

    Thanks

Your child is automatically a citizen if they were born in Australia and you were PR.

You have to apply for evidence of citizenship for the passport application.  It is automatic as they are a citizen from birth, it takes a couple of weeks normally.

Hi I need a help from you but my question is not relate to above answer.

I've got married in Australia I then changed my last name into married name. Do I need to provide change of name certificate with my Citizenship application or  Australian marriage certificate is sufficient???

I’ve also travelled a lot overseas for work and holidays. I only listed the last 10 years(as LouDYorkie mentioned) which in itself was pages long. You have to use the online form as when you finally click submit, each entry appears on the application form which you get a copy of.

What I did was I created a spreadsheet  which allowed for corrections and me remembering trips that I’d forgotten and this allowed me to sort according to date once I was done before entering it into the online form. I believe immi has all the dates of your travel whilst you’ve been living in Aus but they won’t have any of your movements prior to that. I tried to be as accurate as possible, which should be the goal, referencing passport entry and exit stamps and e-flight tickets but I don’t think you’ll be penalised if you’re off by a day or two.

Good luck! That was the hardest part of the application for me.

    Hi,

How did you all prove your evidences in your travel history. Just only passport pages? Do we need to get overseas police check as well? Bit confusing.pls help me

I would say it is a pretty straightforward process. In an Immi account, we created 2 sets of application (for myself and for my partner). My child’s application was attached with mine. In our application we provided/uploaded the following documents:

    MYSELF:

Evidences of arrival in Australia (old passport with entry stamp), Form 1195, birth certificate, driver licence, current passport biopage and photograph (endorsed).

(CHILD) Evidences of arrival in Australia (old passport with entry stamp), Form 1195, birth certificate, current passport biopage and photograph (endorsed).

    PARTNER:

Evidences of arrival in Australia (old passport with entry stamp), Form 1195, birth certificate, proof of age card, passport biopage and photograph (endorsed) and marriage certificate.

Thanks for this! I'm collecting docs these days. If I need  your help in some point I'll let you know.
