Can anyone share a link for the declaration form "Paying For Visa Sponsorship"? All I find is the one related to the company.

    Cheers

    https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/form-listing/files/certification-form-employer.pdf

This is the document I used, it said employer on the link but it should be fine. Also I don't think most people will need to use this file, given you didn't make the same mistake as me in your application.

  2. Hi Guys,

I just got my visa application approved today!

I'm not sure if anyone had this experience before but I actually got a call from the CO yesterday afternoon. He wanted to confirm with me about one of the question in the application (Paying for visa sponsorship, I somehow answered No in the application, he also told me quite a lot of people made this mistake). He asked me to download and signed the "Certification Form – Paying for visa sponsorship" for the department website and upload it to the immiAccount. He also asked about the photo they took when I was doing my medical assessment, apparently in the photo I looked like a girl..... had to explain to him that that was definitely me, just an east Asian dude with long hair.....

And this morning I got a call from him again and was told he has now granted my 186 visa! Checked my email and immiAccount and confirmed this is all real!

I had updated my timeline now, but it feels like my timeline may be an outlier since it is quite a lot shorter than most 186 applicants. But hopefully this can be an actual indication that the department is trying clear the queue before the election!

A side note: when the CO called me for the above questions, my application status on immiAccount was still shown as Received. And it went from received directly to finalised this morning. So we might not be able use the application status as an indicator for whether our application is being evaluated anymore.

    Hi all,

Happy to announce that I got the golden email today!

You can see my signature for my whole timeline.

Would like to thank everyone in the website for being very supportive. It was really encouraging to check this website everyday to see updates and grants.

I did not use MA but I can see the benefit of having one. It really depends on your situation.

Reminder to everyone that once you apply for PR, you are eligible for Medicare! This saved me a lot of money!

My advice to all is to keep calm and try not to check immiaccount everyday. Your time will come!

Will visit once in a while! good luck all!

    Congrats Eddy!

Reading your signature we are in kind of a very similar situation. Just wanted to ask, did you get a LEV A contract for 2 years or more than 2 years? My PI can only commit to a two years contract at the moment and we were warned by the University HR that it could cause rejection for DHA.

There is no definite answer to this. I assume it should be fine, as the most of uni contracts are three years maximum. But if the CO wants to be strict he will have the rights to reject your application based on this reason, I believe. Though, not much you can do.

Thanks for the reply! Well I guessed I just need to set my expectation lower and be prepare for anything that's going to come out... Hopefully I get a grant or a fellowship in the coming months!

  5. Hi guys,

Just got introduced to this forum today after submitting my application earlier this week. Decided to start following this thread and hopefully share some information with you lovely people here.

Can the mod add me to the list please:

    Nomination Submitted: 26th November 2018

    Application Submitted: 27th November 2018

    Category: 186 DE

    No. Applicants: 1

    Occupation: University Lecturer MLTSSL

    Location: on shore, QLD

    Country: CHN - HR?

    Processing team: NSW PSE

    Status: Received

One question, the university HR told me that they needed to declare that they will offer me full-time employment for 2 years at the outcome of the nomination, but my supervisor can only commit a 2 years contract starting 1/1/19. With the current processing time for nomination, does that mean I will get into some trouble when a CO looks at the nomination application? I am getting mixed message regards to this issue, friend who got his 186 approved earlier this year says the 2 years starting at nomination lodge date is fine.
