Hey guys, I have been a quiet reader for a while, but I just got my nomination approved and I have some questions about it.

Do you guys know roughly how long it takes to have your visa accessed after your nomination is approved?
And I also would like to know how relevant is that? I'm celebrating either way because it is a step towards our golds ( me and my wife's ) but does this means the hardest part is passed and I'll probably get my visa soon?

    Thanks in advance.

It indeed calls for celebration 🙂 Many Congratulations.

In most cases visa is granted within a few weeks/a month after nomination is approved. All the Best and do keep us posted!

    Hi members,

    I'm New here...

Visa lodged and officer has requested additional info (s56) for health checks on 28th March 2019 and gave us 28 days to complete, health clearance was provided on 03 April 2019, any ideas if the CO will only open the file after 28 days or CO may open the file sooner

    Hi Suusz,

I am not sure it is the famous email that the others talked about recently.

First email after I submitted my application in about 3 weeks ago. The email is from nsw.pse:

    ========

    REQUEST CHECKLIST AND DETAILS
We need more information to help us assess your application.

    ========

Hi @Kos - you applied on 15th March 2019, is that correct? This is very quick turnaround!

If you are sponsored by a small company you have to buckle up for a long ride. I am just being left behind at this stage as a March applicant. I believe that all "forgotten" marketing specialist have been nominated by small firms. I would wonder if there are any still waiting who are sponsored by big company.

Hi Tocsa - I'm a forgotten Accountant, also from March'18 (I'm guessing you are 2018 as well? Your signature doesn't mention it) and DE, offshore like you. My sponsoring company is large but not a corporate giant like Deloitte, PwC, etc. However, hang in there! You're not alone 🙂

  5. Hello All! Been pretty upset the past couple of weeks as I am well within processing timeline, still no progress on my application. But there's really no point moping around as it's not going to speed anything up! Any Accountants waiting since March'18? All the Best everyone, and hope the new week (the working week starts today in this part of the world) is full of PR grants! 🙂

Oh and also, in my great depression I seem to have lost the link to our wonderful spreadsheet. Anyone kind enough to share the link at their convenience, please??

     @Hex,

My Police clearance from UAE was issued in October with a validity of just 3 months which has already been passed, should I submit a new one now to make my application decision ready or just wait for the CO to request it.

Hi ksttt - My nationality is Indian as well, however, I am based in the UAE. But I was asked to get my PCC cleared from India. For this, I first got my PCC from UAE, took about 3 days), on the back of which I got my PCC from India, which took about 3 months! Since your sign-off mentions India I would think the same would apply to you?

In my case, I think they are asked for certificaiton of CA CPA etc...

But also can prove if this is unnecessary for a business accountant.

I still havent submitted any document yet. I need to do some more research.

My nomination was submitted @ Nov.2017 and granted June,2018

Hi Cecilia - this is strange. Did you go through skills assessment? If you did, then I can't imagine why they would ask for licensing when the skills assessment outcome was positive. Do keep us posted please. Thanks!

Sad news this morning - my nomination was refused 😟

I'm awaiting a meeting with my MA to find out the reason why - once I know I will share it on here.

My application was more complicated than most and I sort of had this in the back of my mind this could happen but hey life goes on. I wasn't actually as upset as I thought I would have been.

Still currently on my 457 so no need to make any urgent decisions at the moment however at first thought - I don't think I will appeal. I see it can take another 12-18 months for your appeal to be heard and to be honest I don't think I can put our life on hold for that amount of time again. My wife wants to start a family and I don't feel comfortable doing that whilst sitting on a bridging visa awaiting the possible outcome - no matter how strong my case may be.

So it looks like my journey in Australia has come to an end - I have so many great memories here and I wouldn't change them for the world. I believe in life, things that are meant to be are meant to be and I guess its just our destiny to be back home. Although they wont say it, both my Wife and my parents will be over the moon I bet - they really struggled with the thought of us having a family out here alone.

Good luck to everyone on here - the forum has helped me through the process and its an awesome community that you all should be proud of.

I probably will take a step back from the forum now and I doubt I will post much more - just need to start planning the move back to the UK. My company has offices back home so I'm currently looking into an internal transfer.

    Farewell and God Bless 🍀

We will miss you around here! I will not say I'm sorry to hear about your news, as I'm a firm believer of the idea that everything happens for a reason. Even if you may not see it now, you will eventually. All the Best for the next stage of your life boo-yaa! Be awesome!  xx

Woke up this morning to find that status has changed to Initial Assessment with a message asking for renewed UK police certificates only?!

Can get these fairly quickly, does anyone know if once I upload these what happens next? Am I almost approved? Or is it needing more weeks of checking?

    Slightly excited now!

    updated timeline below... 🙌

May Congratulations.. I believe you're almost at the finish line now. And from what others have posted on the forum, once you have been requested for additional documents, it takes another 28-35 days for the CO to review your file again (on average). All The Best !

I haver the same question, Normination applied in March, while Visa applied in July, 2018. Will the 12-15 months counting from Normination application or the visa application?

    Thanks so much....

@Hex has already answered this perfectly. Please see below:

I'll answer as straightforward as possible here:

    - Nomination countdown starts from the nomination lodgement.

    - Visa countdown starts from the visa lodgement (however, this cannot be granted before / without the granting of the above mentinoed nomination)

The order is: Nomination reviewed --> (possible updates requested) -->  Nomination Approved --> Visa reviewed --> (possible updates requested) --> Visa granted.
    - I've excluded the negative possibilities, as we all know what they are (we don't need any negativity) 🙂

Giving my heartbreaking news here. My visa got refused today. The Nomination got approved but, 186 DE visa got refused. The reason being, The CO, did not find my previous work experience of "Cook" relevant to the position.

Some of the businesses had shut down, hence I could not get reference letters from all of them. So those experiences did not count. The PAYGs or salary transactions are also not getting into consideration.

I have been here for 10+ years now, since 2008. And this now  !!  Myself and my family are devastated.

My Agent knew about this, but she says Why didn't I inform about my work experiences to her three years ago. I don't know how could I have informed her, when I did not know this issue. No point arguing with her now.      The skill assessment were okay with my work experience, and they approved it, yet Immi did not accept that.

Now My ma is suggesting to go for TRT stream because I have completed two and a half years on 457.  I don't have the heart or anymore strength to go through the ordeal, all over again.

But, I think I will be in a better mental state in the next few days..

I applied 457 in 2016,  186 DE was applied on June 2017. So the CO did not take into consideration my work experience, after June 2017.

Very sorry to hear this.. Stay strong! And do take your time in deciding on your next step.
I didn't understand the part about your Agent asking why you did not inform her? What did you not inform her about? That the businesses you previously worked at have closed down or that there are no reference letters? If it's about reference letters, did she not notice while uploading all other docs.?

    Hey Mate,

Apparently, yes you need to have 3 years experience on your skill assessment before you apply. The time after application is not counted.

You agent should have checked this.

Please check with a different MA.

And s/he has also been advised work experience before Bachelor degree is not counted. Not sure if I've heard of this condition..

@Whites.ukTRT was 11- 14 months, has your application processing estimate changed? This is a much better timeframe

Hi - Not sure I understand the concept very well. Would you say this is good thing for DE as well? I was within the time-frame of 11-16 previously but now I'm off by a couple of weeks (for the 75% application range) I guess..

Hi Hydra, Yes it is TRT and we were so exited to get their emails on Jan for requesting documents. At least it is better than waiting and hear nothing for almost a year.

Of course.. most of us in this forum can relate to the waiting-in-the-dark bit.. Haha! Congratulations on the movement and do keep us posted! ❤️

Thanks Boo-Yaa for your kind replied. We have submitted our application last year 05Mar2018 and officer contacted our lawyer on 07Jan2019 to request police clearance. We have submitted all the required documents on 06Feb2019 (with deadline extension because due date given is 02Feb2019). I am dependent under my husband's application, he is an accountant in a large firm.

Hi Weenno - happy to see another Accountant from March making progress! This is Transition stream (TRT), right?
