Yes we received our visa grant last week, 6th February. 😊

Many congratulations. Do you mind sharing me what happened in the medical examination?

Did you do in the BUPA centre like for the adult or you can do anywhere?

Did they check for the vaccination history as well? I am afraid because I am avoiding to have any vaccination to my baby.

What happened in the medical centre? What is the cost of medical?

  2. Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know,  how to add a newborn baby to our interim medicare account?

I have some confusion, either the baby has to be added to our visa application first and apply for medicare or we can apply for medicare with our supporting documents only.

We need to take the baby for a GP visit and get a health check up certificate.  But the baby would not covered for GP visit unless she has a medicare card. Also I m not sure if the GP will write a letter about the health status of the baby necessary for adding a baby to the visa application.

Your answer is most appreciated Thanks

Yes, I am the same. Baby due date is 4 of January, and it would be such a great thing to get visa before, so he can become an Australian citizen. But I lost my hope already. Once he is born, will need to get a birth certificate and submit it to our application and pay for additional person of course (((

Adding to your information, there is no additional fee to add your baby to the application as per the instruction of my MA.

You just need a birth certificate, passport copy and health declare from your GP.

Good luck for you.  Let's hope for the positive outcome soon.

Thank you Nora for sharing this information. I had received the same answer from my MA. Yes, we do have an interim medicare and it is helping us to go to public birth centre. But we will not  be entitled for government assistance and paid parental leave. Another stress is to get the passport of the new born baby and add it to the visa application it might take time and need to travel with the baby.

I think there is no priority in any of this situation. We have to wait and see.

Looking to the approval rate of Feb applications, there is a tiny hope.

My situation, I am a doctor in alternative medicine, although my nominated position is " Complementary health therapist" which is STSOL and I am HR country.

Nominated Position - Complementary health therapist

Nomination and Visa applied- 27 Feb 2018

    Status- Received

Hi guys, does anyone know if we’re eligible for any payment from government once we have a baby, if we’re on 457 visa, but applied for 186 visa? I mean the same way as we can use Medicare. Thanks

I have the same question and similar situation like yours. I applied TRT on 27 Feb, just 1 day before you and have no update yet.

We are also expecting a baby due date 21 Dec. I had a big hope to get some news before the due date but looking to the current processing time, I m hopeless for Golden mail before Christmas. As per my research, if the baby is born before the visa grant, we don't get any benefits for the baby and baby will get the same visa like the parents.

I wish you good luck and let's keep on praying.

    Hi everyone

    Silent reader here.

My husband and I applied for TRT 186 (Electrician) on 16.2.18 (Low risk country).

The nomination came through last Wednesday (28.11) and our visa was granted today!

We submitted police checks, medicals and Form 80 very soon after the application was lodged. No additional documents were requested

All in all 9.5 months so we are very lucky.

Good luck to everyone still waiting and thank you for sharing your timelines, it is so helpful to people going through the process.

Heartily Congratulations. Happy to see more Feb approval. Good luck everyone including myself 🙂

    VISA GRANTED TODAY !

I cant believe the visa came today after only 9 months from the lodgment.

No more docs asked although 3 weeks ago I asked my MA if I need the new police clearance ( since the previous one was expired) and she said there was not need . But I insisted and we uploaded it in application ( lucky i insisted cuz by now the Officer would have asked the police clearance)

Guys pls be faithful and patient,  especially to whom is waiting for long time , the visa is on its way to you. And trust your MA only 95% . Not 100% .

    Please someone update the spreadsheet

Lodgment  was on 12 feb 2018 and please make this correction: 2 of us and not 1 . Low risk +high risk  countries.

Many congratulations Robert. Good luck and Wish you a relaxing night.
