Had my ceremony last Monday and got the certificate straight away! YAY!

Here's my timeline:

Date received the acknowledgement : Feb 2018

Test appointment received : April 2018

Citizenship Test : May 2018 

Date of Approval : May 2018

Ceremony Invitation : Aug 2018

Hi @Simonrbh, thank you! Here's my final timeline. Here's hoping yours will be as quick as mine. Waiting can be quite frustrating. After I got my approval, I became impatient. But y'all get there. Trust me there's no special treatment or whatsoever.

Our local council usually post the upcoming ceremony dates, and that gave us some idea when to have the ceremony.

Nope, nothing. It's really frustrating. Waiting for ceremony shouldn't take 6 months. My sister in UK only took a week to do her ceremony. I don't know why in Australia takes ages to do a ceremony.

First called Department of home affairs about the citizenship ceremony, they told me to call the local council. Called the City Council and they told me to ring the Department of home affairs . Seriously, none of them could give me a bloody answer when the next ceremony is in Brisbane. Guess I'll just have to wait.

Didn't know there's lots of people waiting for their test/approval until now. I haven't called the council, but I will in my free time.
