It's a pathetic n unprofessional behaviour of immigration department. Either decision is negative or positive they must let us know with in said timeframes.
you must understand that they received an all time high applications. If they could predict every process and decision i am sure they will tell you your decision will be ready by a certain time. Some applications take longer and require a much detailed assessment than others. it is clear they work on priorities as well. so really the might or might not give you a decision within the said time frame or even they might surpass the given time frames by months.

Yes, it happens. My company had one such instance where the applicant's child failed the medical. The nomination is about the employer and the position, the visa is about the applicant. So they're separate issues and either can fail.
thanks, make total sense.

Hi ya'll.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone knows if there has been a case(s) where a visa had been refused even after nomination was approved??

Okay, so you know that the given processing times are just an estimation right?? like someone said earlier you could get results within the timeline if you are lucky or it could exceed the time by a lot of months and i meat A LOT of 'em. And just my thoughts are the new processing timeline (which is absolutely ridiculous) applies to anyone waiting for approval, from the time you lodged your application obviously.

Do you guys think that this new processing time applies to the current applications? Or just for the new ones?
As I said above, I applied in March this year (186 - TRT) and it was 9 months at that time, should I expect 9 or 15 months now?

Hi everyone!
Question:
In April it's going to be 2 years since we applied for 186 trt. Since when we applied we stated that we would have staied in the job position for other 2 years... does this means in april 2019 we can leave our job?
Our nomination has been approved in March 2018, and waiting since then for visa approval with docs requested twice!
What do you guys think?
yes you can. Just return before your student visa expires.

HI @dschmidt
I think those cases getting their visa within 9 months are the direct grand with no further files asked from the CO.
If once CO asks for further documents ,the story might be different
my thoughts as well. It seems that the moment the CO asks for further documents, they put your file aside and move on to other cases until they finalize . I doubt that they stop everything the are doing just because the documents earlier requested have been submitted. which makes total sense why some cases could take over a year after submitting documents for the decision to be made. i wish there was any scientific explanation of how immi works urgh!!!

Hey guys, as I've been following you during the last few months, I think is more than fair to share my good news of today!!! Got my golden email... sooooo grateful, no words can describe the pain of waiting these last 3,5yrs, so I know all you are going through, but it's all worthed!! Keep your faith and it will come in the right time!!
Occupation: Production Manager (Manufacturing) ...haven't seen any in this forum!
Application: Jan 15, 2018
nomination via agent, PR application done by myself.
Nomination granted: today Sep 13th around 11am
PR granted: around 11:50am
Country: LH
1 person
Haven't been requested any further docs.. even if medical and some police checks were already expired. But because before I applied for the 186 (nomination and visa), my company changed the ABN:/... so we applied for a new nomination, first got approved (which took only 2 weeks for the approval) and then we put the application for the 186.
If you follow the Immi rules, all will be ok! Just trust God
Good luck to all of you!!
yaaay more grants from this year. congrats on that.

Bro is it before nomination approval i mean that my nomantion approved after approx 9 months and visa lodged 5 months later after the nomination lodgment. Therefore, I m just wondering why they are taking long time after nomination being approved. Fingers crossed hope probably the next week I will recieve some update. Anyways thanks bro for the revert.
seriously though, no one knows exactly how long it takes after nomination approval. like someone said it could be between 1sec and 1year, okay maybe a little exegeration. It has been just 6wks mate, be grateful atleast your nomination has been approved. This is already great news, so relax all in due time. All the very best

I contacted my MA this morning here's his response
"The delay is caused by a large volume of applications the Department of Home Affairs received last year during the immigration reform.
Everyone was lodging their application even if they were not eligible and this has caused a significant stress on the Department's resource and workload.
We will just have to wait until they contact us."thank you for letting us know. that makes absolute sense
