Yes. After 11 months of 186 trt.

There are more than 10 staffs under 457 in my company and will submit 186 trt soon...have a feel they try hard to pick tiny faults to kick you out....still correcting the documents to prevent any mistake,? if fail, they all in same-boat.

@Hilary my agent did mention that when the spot check pass, our PR might grant straight away.

But now I feel like falling into black hole@@

    So bad!!! ?

So how long have you been waiting for after the spot check?

Talked with my MA yesterday about when will we know the result after submitted all documents for the 457 spot check, she said usually take 2-3 months or maybe if We're not lucky enough can be half year waiting(what!!),and my 186 trt file will be freeze until we pass the spot check.

So I can out of this shit with a peace of mind in these few months(hope I can),without checking my account everyday (keep doing this past 11months)?

    Hi there,

So which means...the Department conducted 457 spot check at your company after you submitted your 186 TRT application?

I experienced the spot check five months after I submitting my 186 TRT application. When the Department staff visited me, they mentioned they came here with regards to my 186 application.

After the spot check, no further documents were requested by them at all. But 8 months have passed, there is no whatsoever update at all. My ImmiAccount still shows ‘received’.

In total, I have been waiting more than 13 months... ?

In the mid of Oct 2017.

You know what... my MA helped me send the Department a follow-up e-mail in December 2017 (since I was interviewed in Sep, based on the 2-3 months expectation, I assume there should be some updates about my a application status)...but the answer was ‘my case is not allocated to a case officer yet’!

    Very strange! ?

@Hilary  did department officers mentioned are they coming from immigration department or they acting on behalf of immigration department? i mean... what i want to ask is did they ask you any particular questions about your job that gave you hint may be this guys are coming from your industry sent by immigration department to cross check your knowledge?? like you know mystery shoppers they could be from any industry or from same industry but don't work directly to company.?

I’m pretty sure they are officially from the Department based on the business card they gave it to me.

did you tried calling department office or is there any option to e-mail them for status?? by the way.. what status shows in your immi account??

Yes, I called and e-mailed...to conclude all the response, ‘wait’ is the word!

    My ImmiAccount still shows ‘received’!

Hi Hilary, how you know the interview was regarding 186TRT not your 457? Did they mention about what it for?

as I know department officer would randomly monitoring 457 applicants and their employer by request documents, and/or occasionally visit applicants's workplace to verify their position.

Because they opened the topic by saying ‘We are here to have a chat with you with regards to your 186 application...”

@Hilary did department officers took appointment before coming to your place or they made surprise visit? what's the interview about though???

Surprise visit of course! Just as same as surprise call to the employer!

The interview was about my job duties and what I have done since working for my employer. Some other questions cover my salary, how many people are working for my company, etc...basically it was all about the genuineness about my position.

The interviewers also advised me that my application was on the way to be finalised. He said maybe another 2-to-3 month wait or even shorter...but now 8 months passed, no news at all! ?

  8. Is there anyone here applying for both nomination and visa in mid April 2017 and still waiting?

    My timeline’s as below:

    13/04/2017: Nomination and visa application

07/09/2017: Two Department officers (not case officer) visited my office to interview me regarding my 186 TRT application.

No news / updates since then!

    Occupation: Conference and Event Organiser

ImmiAccount Status: received (for both nomination and visa)

HR country with 2 people included in the application.

Thats awful. Literally nothing you can either! You simply have to wait which is incredible frustrating. Sorry to hear.

My MA helped me send out several e-mails to the Department. They only replied the first e-mail, which was back in December 2017 (i.e 3 months after the interview). And surprisingly, the answer was ‘my application is still not allocated to a case officer yet’!

I recently called up the Department, and they said ‘my application is under assessment’ but they were not sure when it will be finalised... :(

  10. Anyone lodged application in April 2017 and now is still waiting?

    Here’s mine:

Nomination and visa application day: 13/04/2017

    Occupation: Conference and Event Organiser

On 07/09/2017, two department officers (not my Case Officer) visited my company to conduct an on-job interview with me and had a quick chat with my boss too, which went quite well. They also advised me that the Department was on the way to finalise my case, which would take another 2 to 3 months or even shorter.

However, 8 months flies away...I received no response since then. My  current Immi Account Status still says ‘received’. :(

I am almost in similar situation.
    Applied visa + nomination on - 11/5/17
File opened on 19/10/17- asked for PCC
    Submitted same day
Called business on 22/11/17 - I answered she ask for boss I said he is not available. May I know what is it about? She said I am from immigration and can’t discuss it with me. I said ok (she didn’t know who I am as I didn’t mention my name). Then she said can I please ask you one thing??? I said yes. She said Is someone by this ....name works at your clinic ? I said yes. She said thanks and hung up. Then she straight away called my employer.
After that she requested more docs
22/11/17- salary and super statements for both employer and me and notice of assessment for me, etc
Submitted on 6/12/17- in a sequence, highlighted and organised manner
    But nothing heard since then
Called them thrice- they said my file looks good and they are waiting for nomination approval.
My MA emailed once - replied the file is under processing and you will be contacted if any further docs required.
No news since then and that’s what frustrating me.....they ask for docs -people submit - they sometimes open in a week and finalise
And here I am waiting from 5 months and have no clue what is happening with my file.....hope we all get it soon.
It was my decision to come to Australia and 3 more lives struck with me hanging between visas from last 7.5 years. But I still strongly believe that I made the right decision and no hurdles in life can break me....stay strong and positive

    Hi there,

Thank you very much for sharing your story with me and your positive words as well!

I do believe you are in a situation better than mine...coz at least the Department asked you for further documents after speaking to your employer.

But my side’s just terribly quiet! No one contacted me for anything after the interview being conducted 8 months ago!

My MA kinda congrated me after knowing that the Department officers had visited me to talk about my application. Based on their past experience, the application normally could be finalised within 2 weeks after an interview. But now no one understands why the waiting is like taking FOREVER...

  12. Hi everyone,

After being a silent reader for a while, I do want to share my frustrating visa story with you and seek kindest advice:

Both of my 186 TRT nomination and visa application were lodged on April 13th, 2017. (My nominated occupation: 'Conference and Event Organiser')

On September 7th, 2017, two officers from Immigration Department visited my company to conduct an interview with me and have a quick chat with my boss too, which went quite well. They also told me that my application was on the way to be decided, which would be finalised within two to three months or even shorter.

HOWEVER, there have been no updates from the Department since then. And the application status in ImmiAccount still shows 'Received'. I have been waiting for my application to be finalised for nearly 13 months.

My MA helped me to send an e-mail to the Department in November 2017, and, surprisingly, the reply said 'my application is not yet allocated to the case officer'! But how come I was selected to be interviewed if my case is still untouched yet? My MA sent another enquiry e-mail last week, and received no response yet.

I recently called up the Department, and was told that 'my case is still under process'. However, the ImmiAccount status still shows 'Received'.

Is there anyone in the forum encountering similar situation like mine? Anyone got interviewed by the Department after lodging your 186 TRT application?

Any reply or comment is highly appreciated! And I do wish each one of you can receive your PR very soon!!!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hilary
