We are 189 visa for chef (me) taking husband and 2 little girls, 65 points. It was a long waiting game from the EOI going in in June! Got my EOI on the 5th September, doing medicals in the next couple of weeks (due to preexisting condition that shouldn't be an issue but we don't want to pay the visa fees if refused). Then it's just a waiting game....
Hope it's all quick and painless after that!
would you be able to share more about skilled assessment as chef?
Was it hard?

I think we have a similar situation.
I got invited for 190 NSW as chef with 60 points.
On the 22 december my agent apply for the visa.
On the 8th January I sent all the poloce checks to my agent and also I had the medical control on that day.
Now im waiting;)
I read abput the direct grant and I hope to get it as I already provide all the documents (school diploma, ielts,cv,skill assessment).
Lets see.
Keep me posted

You have been misinformed. May I suggest that you consult registered migration agent?
well. my MA is saying that skilled assessment as a chef is not for the person who recently graduated diploma of hospitality.
Although, I have been working as a cook for last 2 years.
Is this right?
