    Thanks Eva,

Seems most visas in Victoria get good access to education at a good price. Just scroll down to the tables.
    http://www.education.vic.gov.au/Documents/school/principals/curriculum/osschstudfee.pdf

Actually Private schools can be cheaper as they can waiver any fees (they did for us to $0 for the PMV period) also full fees can be much less than that - I don't recall exactly but one was around $3500 per year the other around $7000 per year, both very good Catholic and Christian schools.

Thanks for sharing this link, highly appreciated it.

    Hi!

State schools in Victoria are not charging more for temporary/international residents so that should be less (we pay about $600 a year for primary school)

Biggest expense would be your housing , if you need to be in commuting distance to CBD, I would budget between $750 and $1500 per WEEK depending on your preferences.

    Overall you should be fine!

    Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for your clarification for schools fees, i have read online that for Temporary/international residents the school fees is depends on their annual pay as well that's why i have included $500 to $600 per kid .

Well i am looking for location around 45 Minutes to 1 hours by train i do not want to stay near to CBD, that's why i have kept $2000 for Renting.

    thanks for encouraging words

    1) Is your salary monthly? It might actually be $12,307 per 4 weeks.

    2) If you get PR you wont be able to access your superannuation till possible age 70 (in most cases for your current age).

    3) Depending on a few things tax might be a bit higher.

    4) Might need to up this amount for a 3 bedroom house try around $4,000 per 4 weeks.

    5) Could be more like $1,000.

    6)Could be $1250. http://www.study.vic.gov.au/Shared Documents/en/StandardTuition-FeeRateCard.pdf

    7) Depends on individuals but in the ball park.

    8) Should be good with that.

    9) Really depends on where you rent a house.

    10) As above.

    11) Personal circumstance item.

    12) I think you will find this more.

    13) Personal circumstance item.

I have never lived in Melbourne (my sister does) but I would guess that $160,000 per year will be tight while paying international student rate (I assume you will need too, but each state has different rules/policy and I don't know Victoria's. Another thing to confirm is that it is + 9.5% superannuation, if you are paid an award generally the employer has to add the 9.5% but in salary and above award payments often it is included in the total remuneration figure.

    Thanks for your advice, appreciate

I think your salary is pretty good. Life here is expensive though so you will still need to budget but I think you'll be able to have a decent life here.

Your enployer will pay your super (retirement savings) into an Australian approved superfund.

Temporary residents who leave Australia permanently can claim their super after they have left the country but there are conditions.

This link will take you to the Australian Taxation Office website for detailed info:

OK, in that case do NOT accept the 457.  Wait and apply for PR and move once you have been accepted. It is an unnecessary risk to accept the 457 which is only a temporary contract.

    Appreciate your suggestion,

BTW can employer apply for PR if the employer has fast track to obtain it, when i have check in below link seems lke 457 is not suitable for me guess employer nomination subclass 186 is more suitable and i can ask employer accordingly.

Do not assume you will qualify for PR as many won't. You need to assume you will be returning to your home country at the end of the 457, if not sooner.

For example, if you need to be sponsored for PR by the company and are aged 42, well, the cut off to be sponsored for PR - or an independent skilled visa - is 45. The moment you have your 45th birthday you are no longer eligible. Add in that occupations are removed regularly (over 200 last year) there is certainly no gauruntee of PR.

Thanks for your valuable feedback and advice, i will keep this in mind,

Seems like it is risky to migrate to Australia at this AGe, as currently i am very much comfortable in Singapore.

Only migrating to Australia is this Job is very good in term of Future growth and less study stress for kids , and of course i can get big house :)

If you have to wait three years to get sponsored for PR, it will be too late - once you reach the age of 45, you can't get PR.

Are you eligible to apply for a skilled visa by yourself now?   If not, then moving to Australia won't make any difference - you will still have to meet all the same requirements as you do if you apply from your own country.

Yes i am eligible to app;y for PR by myself, i have checked with my immigration agency and they have done the evaluation.  so i am thinking of applying for PR by myself or tell company to apply for my PR directly and once PR is approved then only i will move to Australia.

    Thanks for your advice

I wouldn't be buying a property on a 457 visa. All you've got with a 457 is a temp job - you have no job security or right to stay in the country.  If you find the job isn't to your liking, or the company gets into trouble, you will have to leave the country - and you'll be lumbered with a property that's a liability.

Of course, you could rent the property out, but you'll be crucified for tax by the Australian government because you'll be a foreign landlord, which will make it a very bad investment.

    Thanks for your reply.

Also thanks for your suggestion, well i am more or less satisfy with Job so that is not an issue, also the company is top-10 in the world so i am quite not worried from that part.

But never the less you are right it could be bad investment if i leave before i get my PR.

Also now a days i have to wait for three years before my company can sponsor for my PR due to requirement of visa, until n unless i apply by myself, not sure whether it can approve or not.

Also not sure is it worth to move to Australia at the age of 42, lot of uncertainty.

    Regards,

I was wondering as foreigner on working visa how much extra Stump duty i have to pay.

My Budget of buying properties in West side of Melbourne is $600K only.

  10. Hello Everyone,

I am  considering to moving to Melbourne and my 10 year kid has T1D from last three years.

She is on Levemir Insulin detemir flexpen and Novarpid Flex pen.

So my question how much it will be cost Pen Refill for these two every month if i taking one Pen Refill once a month for people who are not Aus Citizen and PR, i will be coming on Working Visa 457..

Also i am using Freestyle Libre Glucose Monitoring Sensors twice a month, which cost us $92 Per Sensor which same price as in Singapore.

not sure if i coming on working visa 457 or TTSC i willbe eligible for Medicare and PBS subsidies and able to register for NDSS as well.

Also how easy to get the consumable like Refills, i am aware that i need the GP to write the prescription which cost almost $70 per letter.

    Appreciate your valuable feedback,

    thanks in advance

    Regards,

Well currently i am Singapore PR holding indian passport.

Not sure whether does it really make sense to move to Melbourne.

I am moving to Australia due to Less stress on Children education and big houses, as in Singapore the stress of children for education is very high, also the houses are like Shoebox.
