    Hi all,

I am very pleased to let you all know that we got our visas! Our agent was out of the office so we only got the letter today but they were actually granted yesterday. Our lodgement day was 22nd December 2017 and our entry date must be before the 27th December 2018. We will be moving to Sydney in approx. a month time. Good luck to all of those who are still waiting for their grants. They will come soon!

    Cristina

The onshore applicants have been contacted from December and January, I am not sure, if onshore applicants gets priority !! :(

Trust me ive been living in australia since 2012..applied in december for 190 and still waiting..no CO contacted my lawyer...people from january and february already got the grant

  4. I was just checking the draft my lawyer sent for the visa and just found 4 errors.

Like she put I worked in a restaurant in UK when it was in Italy.

Or the start date of a place is one month earlier than what it was

I hope this is not the reason why is taking longer than 4months without any contacts.

Hi @Ronco88, I think the website below is the one you are referring to:

    https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/work/work/allocation-dates-for-general-skilled-migration-applications

    Hope this helps.

Yes this one thanks. So I applied on the 22 december for 190 (with all the medical/police documentations )witch means im not in the priority group right? Also they removed the 90/100 days for the direct grant...;( 110 days today and still nothing

  6. Hi I read somewhere (maybe even immigration website), about the timeline of the visa 189 190. They were saying something like 90/100 days is the max time whete the CO start to look into the application.

Also something about priority of applications made before the 22 December...

Can someone address me to that page please.

    Thanks

  7. @Cristina  i check everyday and the situation is killing me....I applied on 22th december....all people on and before 22 are green (granted) or yellow (contacted)...23 and 24 started to get granted or contact.....what about me???

I cant even check my status as I did with my lawyer....is my lawyer getting notification if I get the grant or they need to check in myVevo everytime to know??

    Thanks

would you be able to share more about skilled assessment as a chef?

    was it hard?

Not really I just send my school certificate, pay slips, references for the last 10 years and thats it.. plus of course they need documentations from ATO..just waited 3 months and got it....they basically says "yes u ve been a chef for longer than 3 years"

190 visas are ahead of 189 visas. It seems they are giving 190 ones priority over the 189 ones. In fact, 190 visa tracking keeps moving forward while 189 visa tracking is stuck on the 26th November 2017 and hasn't moved for almost a month! :(

Where do you see this tracking?

Thank you for your reply @lbooth. I queried my migration agent about this after I read your comment. His response was that the requirements haven't changed. However, it is always down to the discretion of the CO to request further documents/info if he/she deems it necessary. This means they can virtually ask for whatever they want. The "rules" are just guidelines that are usually followed. But a CO can have any additional request if they think is needed. However, I think in some cases certain requests lack of common sense, like in your case. But I am afraid there is nothing we can do about this.

I have recently heard of other cases with unusual requests about police checks and other documents so you're not alone. I am afraid the COs are getting very picky and I suspect this has something to do with the fact that the new Australian government is pushing to cut down immigration numbers and make it harder, especially for permanent residency visas. It is just the general trend, I think :(

    Hi @Ronco88,

We did submit form 80 since our agent requested us to do so. It seems that, although form 80 is not a compulsory requirement, it is commonly requested by COs if it hasn't been submitted. I have read in forums of many cases where they had been contacted by the CO with a request for form 80. I have also heard of other cases where it wasn't submitted and it wasn't requested by the CO. I guess it's just luck, but I would rather not take the risk with something as easy to provide as form 80.

    Hi @Cristina

I hope so as I asked few times to my agent about this form80..I really hope otherwise there will be anothe 4months on the top;(

@Ronco88If you have claimed any experience points you will have to provide evidence of that professional experience. For example, I claimed 5 years of professional experience (10 points) and had to provide things like:

    - Reference letter for all my roles by my corresponding employers.

    - Tax returns for all those years.

    - National insurance / social security reports for all those years.

I went the extra mile and did the professional experience verification with Engineers Australia when I did the skills assessment. This is something they do to corroborate that the experience you claim is true. So by asking a third party to confirm it, it's not only me but also a professional body backing up that experience. This was a separate addition to the skills assessment and had to pay for it separately but my migration agent recommended it in order to build a stronger case and to hopefully prevent the Home Affairs Dept to come back asking for further evidence.

    Hi cristina,

I got what you mean.my agent sent all tge referece letters, payslip, contract and whatever I gave to RTA to do mt skill assessment. I also think she sent my school diploma with it. I Am in Australia with my second sponsor 457 at the moment witch means they can check there as well about my carreer.

Other than all these I dont think she sent anytging else.

We also sent 2 weeks ago my new passport as I had to renew just to anticipate them.

I dont honestly know what else they would like to have.

  14. Hi Cristina,

I think we have a similar situation.

I got invited for 190 NSW as chef with 60 points.

On the 22 december my agent apply for the visa.

On the 8th January I sent all the poloce checks to my agent and also I had the medical control on that day.

    Now im waiting;)

I read abput the direct grant and I hope to get it as I already provide all the documents (school diploma, ielts,cv,skill assessment).

    Lets see.

    Keep me posted

    Ciao
