Just thought I would tell everyone after 7 months 3 weeks and 2 days we have got our visa x
Wow that's great! congratulations!!!
UPDATE: My husbands ex partner got a call back this morning (1st attempted to call her three weeks ago to verify that she was aware and consented to her son coming Australia with us but she was away on holiday then) anyway she now has confirmed she is happy for him to be on my visa application.
so now that's done.. hoping to hear something soon.. anyone else had calls like this?

Sending the application to AHPRA wasn't too bad, but the list of details they sent me 8 weeks later requesting info was a nightmare (asking for certified copies of course outlines, proof of medication course, certified copies of my Testamur etc), I had a time limit to get it all back to them. After everything they requested they asked me to give permission to extend the assessment time limit. This I did and within a week or so I got the in principle registration. I flew over to present in person and that took and hour or so as I had to get a declaration signed as my COGS was just over the expiry date at that time.
aww thanks for that, need to start the process now :-(

If my visa process goes over the 7-8 month standard processing time, I will submit feedback online via the DOHA website.
Has anyone who is passed the 7-8 month mark tried this?
I can see you lodged your ahpra any chance you could help me out with that one as o STILL haven’t done it.. was it a night mare? X

I couldn't imagine waiting 210 days, we are just at the 90 day mark. SA was in the news yesterday, crying out for migrants as they only got 4% of the migration population last year. I feel that more focus should be put on the 489 and 190 visa for places that are considered regional. We (190 State sponsored) should be a priority over the 189 visa who can live anywhere. I feel that if Australia really wanted to push migrants into regional areas, they would focus more on our visa and slow down on the 189 processing. Just my opinion!
Hopefully the grant will come soon, fingers crossed for you!
Really? Wow how ridiculous.. mine was ALWAYS going to be the back of the sorting pile.. it’s just my luck! That kinda thing is just my bad all the way through my life.. but really losing the will now...

In many years on immigration forums I can safely say its fairly unusual to have the absent parent contacted if they have completed all the forms. There isn't going to be a standard timeline.
I am also in the same situation my husbands ex was contacted (unsuccessfully as she was away on holiday ) but we had a solicitor over see the agreement, she’s signed EVERYTHING which needed to be signed and we provided all the correct copies of passports ect of hers.. but STILL they check, not sure when they will recheck to get the confirmation we need... Hi everyone, we are 210 days since lodging.. (midwife state sponsored south Australia) three weeks ago my husband was contacted via telephone from Australian high commission regarding his 11 year old son being on my visa app (his mum is letting him come with us when we go) he confirmed he was aware and that he consented and that we was all going together. Then a day later the same office attempted to contact my step sons mum for her to confirm she’s allowing him to come, she however was on holiday and never took the call but her oldest son took it and advised she was away and the date she would be back, they said they would ring back...
NOTHING not heard a dam thing since
we front loaded EVERYTHING form 80, police checks, medicals..
we've sold our house, and since December 7th been living in the THEE tinesist house ever invented (my mums 2 bed house)
we just need out...
ANYONE GOT ANY NEWS OF ANYTHING???
Sam x

Hi guys!
so I’m a midwife, 190 for NSW - 65 points with 70 once nominated. Here’s my timeline:
skills assessment sent 8th January, approved by ANMAC end of January.
EOI for subclass 190 lodged 24th february
invited to apply for nomination 3rd march
applied for nomination around 9th march
invited to apply for 190 visa around 18 march
application for visa lodged 23rd March and Medicals and police check all done last week.
if anyone has any tips on how to remain calm whilst waiting for any news it’d be greatly appreciated
I’m in pretty much the same boat as you.. I’m a midwife state sponsored S.A. VISA LODGED 16th July 2018 and I just can’t wait to get out of England! Police checks and medicals completed last week and front loaded. Not heard a thing since lodging my visa..
feels like the clocks stopped

Hi I am a midwife also, my 190 SA sponsored visa was lodged 16th July 2018, I completed medicals and police checks 20th August so we can front load them hoping to save time.
I haven't even started my AHPRA reg as I am unsure about my timeline and I know you have to personally present yourself to activate it within 90 days! so its a little awkward.. any suggestions?

Oh my goodness I can’t believe I have finally found another midwife! I’ve not came across one yet!
Congratulations on your invite! That is so exciting!
I am exactly the same as you, I have applied for 189/190 visa with 65 points and 70 points. I lodged mine on the 21st March but haven’t heard anything since! Did you just receive an email?
Its really reassuring to see you got yours through so quickly! I’m driving myself crazy researching online the occupation ceilings and invitation rounds !
Hi guys I am also a midwife living in Manchester presently and have lodged for my 190 subclass for SA (state sponsored) medicals and police checks completed 20th August 2018..
could I grab your email also so we can all keep linked in better?
I haven't even started my AHPRA yet.. and to be honest I don't even know where to start with it!!
I know I will have notifications on my registration due to criterion 5 (continuity of care cases in training) which is so stupid! I have over 11 years experience and coordinate a delivery suite but will have restrictions on my practice
lets link up and share our journeys

Update!!

Hi guys just as an update yesterday (18/06/2018) we got our invite to lodge for. 190 state sponsored hoping to have all the info and lodge within the next two weeks! Then it’s a waiting game.. anyone any advice on state sponsored visas? X

Hi thanks for the replies.. even though it digressed a little
I have had my positive skills assessment back and have applied for state sponsorship in SA AND submitted my IOE.. These was 4 weeks ago and the processing time is saying 4-5 weeks.. if I get an invite to lodge for a 190 state sponsorship visa I’ve pretty much got all I need to apply straight away! Processing times for visa is currently saying between 6 -10 months..
QUESTION: does anyone have any advice on when to apply to APRHA???
Any input welcomed
-
Hi thanks for the reply! Seems Victoria could provide state sponsorship... so could get sucked through the system a bit quicker if we did it that way.. Or maybe Queensland Sunshine Coast is a fav.. ? not sure yet.
i am a coordinator/midwifery leader of a labour ward at the minute so will be gutted to do something less than that or worse still on supervised practice because of the criterias AHPRA say need to be passed ?
where abouts do you work? X
