Hi!!! I am currently getting investigated and I’m so nervous because I was at the different farms from January to May and got signed off 94 days but that was including 7 day periods where I hadn’t actually worked the full time hours? Was this like your situation?

    Thanks

    Hello

It is not the same situation as mine I'm afraid.

My situation (from memory ... it was a very long time ago) ... we had done 3 full calendar months of farm work but they first rejected us saying we had not completed the right amount of days. (My impressions was you wither completed the required amount or days over a longer period of time OR did 3 consecutive months) I argued we had done the 3 calendar months living and working on a farm and quoted their text off the website .... then I got the 2nd WHV grant!

This is incorrect. People should not do police or medicals before requested.

The reasons for this are: 1. They are only valid for 12 months. It is easy for something to cause a delay and mean they have to be redone. 2. First entry after grant has to be within 12 months of the police check or medical. Not only can this mean people don't have a lot of time to arrange getting them and family to Oz, but it can even be seriously bad. If the grant was issued 364 days after the medical / police check and you can't get to Oz in 24 hours, the visas are cancelled. 4. It is does not speed up the process by doing early. They just sit in the system until the co  would have dealt with them after requesting them.

People can do medicals before being requested, just as I and many other people have done in order to receive a direct grant.

And when I talk of speeding up the process ... I mean this because you can sit for 100+ days and wait to be asked to provide these documents ... then provide them; to then sit back and wait again for a grant. Or; just give them all in the first instance and then you won't be asked for them and are much more likely to get a DG.

I do agree with the rest you have said with regards to entry date of Aus being 12 months from medicals and I have already stated this in my earlier post.

I am only giving my advice out based on my own experiences and from what I have seen happen to others on this forum. Ultimately the choice on how to proceed is with the individual applying.

    Thanks 🙂 xx

Ahh ok great, I will drop them an email for our reference.

That's good to know, I thought it was 12 months from when the visa was actually granted rather than the date of our medical/police checks.

We have already done form 80. this was before we submitted our application. Seems as through all migration agents must work in a different order.

Yes we have applied for NSW 🙂

    xx

I've replied to this but for some reason my reply needs approval? Hmmm.

    Anyway, I said...

Oh good haha (re: form 80).

It's good to sign up on myimmitracker because you get a predicted grant date but can also see how long other people are waiting for grants and it will help you get an idea of the current processing times.

Keep us posted on how you get on! Xx

Thanks for the advice! Our visa agent has already submitted our application and we have paid the fee, they said they will contact us for medical/police checks..so do you think we should just do these ourselves and then forward these onto our migration agent?

I noticed from other posts that your husband is a diesel mechanic (same as my partner) so hopefully we will get a quick turn around like yourselves 🙂

    xx

Yes 1000000% get the ball rolling with everything else!

We had an agent too and as soon as he submitted our final application he provided us with the reference needed to book a medical assessment so we could get that booked. So you'll need to ask your agent for this.

If you're wanting a quick turnaround then there really is no point at all waiting for a CO to contact you for docs you already know you need because that just adds to your day count for a grant.

Once your visa is granted you will have 12 months to enter from either the date of your medical or the date of your police check (which ever is the first .... I think). So bear that in mind too.

And as you may have seen on other posts, don't avoid the form 80. It's long and boring but COs seem to be asking for these so just do it lol.

Yes that's right he is! Best of luck to you. Have you applied to NSW?  Xxx

    Hi Everyone,

We have just submitted the final part of our visa. Waiting for them to contact us for police checks/medical. Does anyone know the average time to be granted the Visa?

Home Affairs says 6-8 months but I wasn't sure if this was the average time from the start of the visa application (putting in an EOI, before being invited/nominated etc) or is this how long it takes from the your final application once you have been invited and paid the government fee?

    Thanks

    Lucy

    Hi Lucy!

Don't wait for a CO to contact you to request medicals and police checks As this will cause a delay ... We know these need to be provided so crack on with that asap and get everything attached to your final application. Also do the form 80!!

Attaching all of the above means that when a CO reviews your file there shouldnt be any additional info required and you could get a direct grant.

Otherwise youre waiting 100+ days for a CO to contact you for docs you already know you need and thus adding another 100+ (potentially) days to the processing of your application.

We attached everything to our final application and got a direct grant after 111 days (As in we submitted our final application, then did medicals and request police checks straight away and as soon as paperwork for these were back to us we attached those against our final application alongside a completed form 80; meaning on day 111 when a CO looked at our case they didn't need to ask for anything else and gave us a DG).

Hope this helps! Good luck xx

  6. Hello

Not sure if this is in the right place but... my visa is in my maiden name to match my passport which isn't due for renewal for another couple of years.

My question is, when we arrive in Aus and I'm setting up bank accounts and Medicare etc, can I do that in my current name or will I have to set everything up in my maiden name to match my visa?

    Thanks 🙂

Just a little update we were contacted from a case officer yesterday on day 115, they asked for form 80s to be filled in,

I’m actually so annoyed at this as I had asked my migration about these when we lodged our application and she said they weren’t required. So could have potentially had a direct grant yesterday but instead I’m guessing added another 8 weeks or so onto our wait 😡😢

Oh emma I'm so sorry that must be very frustrating!!

But at least you are one step ahead in the right direction.

    Xxx

  8. All we did is have bloods taken, a urine sample, height and weight taken, eye test (just reading letters on the board like normal, you take your glasses if you wear them) then chest x-ray, chat with a doctor about any current conditions, prescription medication, family history, then a feel of your stomach, kidneys, listening to your heart and general check up. Ita nothing scary and you'll be in and out in a jiffy! ?

    Hi,

Apologies if this has been covered but how long have people found that they have waited for contact from a CO after lodging their application? From what I have been able to find, admittedly from only a few examples, it appears to be approximately 3 months. If anyone is willing to share their experiences that would be great.

    Thanks.

From what I have seen it's around the 3 months too. If you've uploaded all your docs though a case office won't contact you and you'll get a direct grant! (If they don't need anything further from you).

  10. Lodged NSW 190 Diesel Mechanic (my husband) on 20th June, all docs front loaded and application is decision ready. Anxiously awaiting news from our agent. My  predicts we will have a grant by the end of October ?

  11. Hey Emma,

I'd suggest just doing it anyway ... imagine if a CO looks at your file and asks for it then you'd be kicking yourself you never did it and potentially missed out on a direct grant.

We did it and it's really not that bad just time consuming... again though the time it takes is dependant on your circumstances.  We did a lot of travelling and have therefore worked a lot of jobs so having to list all this for the past 10 years took ages but if you haven't done any of that it's be easy peasy ? x

  12. Go back to them with a response! Back when I applied for my 2nd WHV it got declined (saying I didn't do regional work for long enough) but they were wrong and I did. I went straight back to them via email with my dispute and their next reply was a granted visa.

    Good luck!

    Hi Guyz,

I am new to the chat.

I am a new nurse, completed skills assessment, police clearance and english requirements. I have applied for 190 visa on April 19, 2018 with 65 points + (5 of 190 )but have not got any response yet. Do I need to submit any documents when applying. I have applied through the homeaffairs website and provided information to the questions.

Am I on the right track

I have almost given up hope of any invite after viewing the invitations for july 2018 which only invited for point score of 75+ onwards

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey,

Which state 190 did you select? Note that if you pick a specific state when applying for the 190 then that will go in your favor.

The high points for invite is for the 189 visa, they don't share the point scores on invites for the 190s so dont be disheartened with what you have seen.

I'll let someone else respond regarding the documents, I had an agent so am not sure.

    Good luck! Xxx

    Hi Guys,

I just wanted to give a bit of hope to those out there waiting. I received my grant yesterday without any CO contact. I was devastated by the 8-11 month processing time (which was 9-12 when I submitted) in February. In addition, I looked at my immiaccount all of the time, and it never ever updated from received (I was waiting for it to say initial assessment, etc), but since it had never changed I thought I would be waiting the full time period. However, on Monday night it said received and by Tuesday afternoon I had a grant letter in my email.

Hope the theory that things pick up in July due to the new fiscal year is true for all of us. If there are any other nurses out there who will be relocating to the Melbourne area, please reach out to me! I'd love to make some new friends who also went through this crazy process.

    Hi,

    Congratulations!

Can I ask, I assume you front loaded all your documents? Did thus include the form 80 as well?

    Thank you x

You can try to alter your application and tick the yes box for your husband.  Alternatively, he can write a statement regarding the offence(s) he committed, and how he has never been in trouble since etc.  Depending on the offence he could supply a character witness statement also.

    Thank you ?

We checked back at the application questions and they talk only of being convicted which he never had been so thank the Lord there is no incorrect info on our actual visa application!

I've seen that you can obtain a Subject Access Request form which gives all details behind the "No Live Trace" so I will upload that alongside the police check so they can see that it was nothing and from a very long time ago.

    Phew!

Hi sorry if this sounds boring to some or seems daft but I have been looking around the internet looking for advice and getting very overwhelmed by the different sites... A friend of mine recommended this site so here’s my situation.

I am 32yrs old my wife is 33yrs old, i have 3 children daughter 11yrs old and 2 sons one 9yrs and other 5months.

I am a hgv diesel mechanic and i have done a online application and get an email back saying with my occupation and having family already in Australia that are willing to sponsor us, the agency are pushing for me to transfer money to them to get things started i have done research about the firm and had both positive and negative reviews does anyone have an idea how much the application process is and hoe long it takes as some sites say years and some say months and like i say it’s getting a little overwhelming but it’s been our dream to move over and family ties are no longer a problem.... any advice would be greatly appreciated ?

    Hey!

My husband is a diesel mechanic also ? If you have a bad feeling about the agent you've seen already then maybe keep looking for an agent who you are more comfortable with. There are some on this forum who you could find and who would be able to help.

With agent fees + visa fees + police checks and medicals o reckon we have spent close to £6000 but note that this figure is for 2 people on a 190 visa. Your costs will vary with looking into a different visa and having family.

We made the decision to get the ball rolling last December and just last week submitted our final application and did medicals and police checks. I am hoping to have a grant this year (fingers crossed) so all in all that would take the process timeline to 1 year. Again, this will vary with different visas and circumstances.

We have used an agent called Sammy Naghi at MSL Solicitors and he is registered MARA (make sure whatever agent you use thst they have their MARA number. If they're not registered then don't use them).

Hope this helps shed some extra light for you!

    Best of luck x

  17. Mine says "No trace" but my husband's is "No Live Trace".

Explanation on the cover letter state: NO TRACE = You do not have any convictions, cautions, final warnings or reprimands.... and NO LIVE TRACE = Whilst there is criminal record information held aboit you, this information does not appear on your Police Certificate(s) as it is deemed no longer relevant. It still forms part of your criminal history and it is your responsibility to declare it in accordance with the conditions of your visa application.

.... we did check the visa application though and that just talks of actually being convicted which he never was so it should be ok I hope!

I've read that a lot of people though had theirs say No Live Trace and then queried it to have it changed after to No Trace. Weird!
