There is no office of WHO. I meant make sure the hospital you get vaccinated from issues you a WHO vaccination card. It's yellow in colour and has your CNIC/Passport number on it. Usually only 2 or 3 government hospitals per city issue this. I would recommend going to the biggest government hospital in Karachi and inquiring there.

Thanks. Also does anyone know if I can opt to get the AFP as a PDF document rather than posted..?

Don't read too much into your application status. My wife's status remained "Initial Assessment" until the day she got her decision. I thought it would change to "Further Assessment" after the interview/medicals/PCC/additional documents, but it never did.

Re: Polio Certificate, make sure you get the yellow vaccination card from WHO. That's the only acceptable proof of polio vaccination.

Hi Andy where is WHO in Karachi any ideas?

  3. Hey guys I need ur advice. Our DOL is 15 Nov 17. We havent had any contact from AHC in Islamabad. My partner really wants to apply for a tourist visa and would like to be in Aus for the month of September. Partner has a full time job in Pakistan that they must return to. What are your thoughts/advice? Should we apply for tourist visa or stay put and wait for our application to be processed?

Also, if we should apply for family sponsored tourist visa what do we need to show? Thanks in advance

Hi Shah, my partner recived an interview call on 10th of July 2018, and now we are waiting anxiously.

i belive they are finalizing Nov 2017 application at this point in AHI.

Hey SZIK when did u lodge application and did u receive an email from the case officer before the interview? We also lodged on Nov 15 but havent had any correspondence from them whatsoever. Its very frustrating.

@Mu'mina the email address is: immigration.islamabad@dfat.gov.au . The correct way to provide them documents is to upload them to your immi account. I'm not sure they like getting emails with attachments these days. Unless your query is really urgent, don't expect them to respond to you. Even if they do, it will be a standard reply saying your application is in progress bla bla bla.

They called my wife for an interview exactly 10 months after the application. After the interview, they sent an email asking for additional documents and medicals.

What's your story? You the applicant or the sponsor? When did you apply?

Thanks for the prompt reply. We lodged paper application in November 2017. So we dont have an Immi account. We did get an acknowledgement email but thats it so far.

Im sponsoring my husband who is in Karachi. I recently visited Karachi and wanted to inform AHC however not sure how to go about it. Can I still make an Immi account now? And then upload pics etc?

Hi Kina, welcome to the thread. What country did your husband apply from?

I would suggest going through the past few pages of this thread to learn about people's experiences. Please note that most people you find on this thread applied from Pakistan. Visa processing times can vary slightly from country to country. Generally it takes 10 to 13 months. Keep an eye on this processing times list published by the Immigration Department which is updated every month: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/about/access-accountability/service-standards/global-visa-citizenship-processing-times

To answer your question about June 2017, yes my wife applied in June 2017 as well. We have recently been asked for additional documents and a medical exam. If everything goes smooth from here on, we're expecting to get our visa in June 2018 which will be 12 months since the application.

Hi Andy after how many months did they contact u for the medical exam? And still no interview?
