I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but we are thinking to install solar panels in Melbourne to cut our electricity bills. I know the feed in tariffs are not as generous as they were in the past. However, I wonder if anyone could share their experience about solar or alternative energy supply, e.g. finding a trusted trader, the installation, any trouble you had with or things need to watch out. 

We are a family of three, just normal usage of electricity. Somewhere I read the payback time for Melbourne is currently 7.5 years. It seems very long!

Any advice/recommendation is appreciated. Thanks
