    Hey guys,
My wife, myself and 2 children applied for a 189 occupation fitter general. Here is our timeline

    Submitted EOI 18/07
    Invited 06/09
Lodged with all documents except form 80 on 11/10
    Visa was granted today 28/11

This has taken us completely by surprise as was not expecting a quick turnaround.

    Congratulations...

    Hi,

Yes - although I've seen mixed information about how they process them after they enter the system, whether its just the order in which they are received or based on points (or something else?). From what I've seen it can't be an exact science because it depends on whether you fulfill the application requirements to the satisfaction of the case officer who is dealing with your application. It could get passed from one to another who could have different ideas about what satisfies each requirement.

Its just hoops...many, many hoops. I need them to hurry up with mine now. The longer it goes on the more we are disadvantaged by not having it. Eg. we are onshore but unable to buy a house without residency, we need to move out of our rental which has been sold. We can't enroll our children in school without proof of a permanent address but we don't want to commit to the cost and move to another rental if there is a chance we could buy before the new school year.

I'm just ranting, I really hoped this would have been more straightforward. The only contact we've had is to say that we've been assigned a case officer, they requested a couple of extra documents (provided in September) and since then its a wall of silence. Status just says 'Review in process'. So frustrating.

Well im in a similar situation as well...last doc requested was submitted on 25th sep and till now its all quiet...dont know how long will it take

  3. Hi

I have applied for sn 190 and waiting for the visa grant.my last request was updated on 25th Sep17 .

Im jus concerned over one thing and thats i had to make new docs like child birth certifacates and marriage certificate had few spelling mistakes according to the names in the passports...however all those docs were correctes and sent back in time ..does this affect on getting my visa ?

    Hi everyone,

So, I can't help but notice that October grants are well below the usual grant rate? I know September was a massive month (one of the trackers reporting as many as 270 PR grants in the month) much more than the usual, but so far in October less than a handful. Does anyone know why this might be? Even if you don't include September its still way below the average. I could make some assumptions about why but, if anyone has more experience or has some information that would be great!

No idea! Jus dreaming that there is going to be  a rainfall of grants by the end of oct...

    Hello Spicykhan,

Without knowing exactly what errors were made it is impossible to say what impact they could have on your application.  The best you can do is upload the correct documents along with a competed Form 1023 (notification of incorrect answers) including how/why the incorrect documents were supplied.  The form is available on the Immi website.

    I hope this helps.

    Regards

Thanks SD ..well the docs were my children's birth certificate where in fathers name my first name instead of O was written with U ..so corrected them by making new ones ...

Nothing like illegal doc was presented just bit of spelling mistake...my name can be written both with O and also with U ..

what happened on sep 25th, why so long for update?

Well the delay was from my side...few docs had spelling mistakes and were not matching the name on passport and on marriage certificate also a date mistake so had to make new docs with all the correct docs sent back to CO in time and in the end it was my wifes ielts which was expired had to be valid within one year of visa lodge so she passed and on 25th submittes the last n final doc from the checklist ....3 weeks now no update ..fingers crissed n hoping for a quuck grant if lucky....

  7. Well im from Pak and our child certificates and marriage cert have been computrised in 2011 before that tgey jus made manual kind of documents and write the names translating from Urdu language to English hence causing the error in the names spelling which u can correct now and make new computrised certificates with exact spellings like in passport..
