Thank you This is sweet of you.
Well we are always more resilient and stronger than we think
Seriously, they allocated my file over two weeks ago now and I would be so happy to get some good news before Thursday.
When did you apply and in which field

Did you enter your info in the spreadsheet?
You are transition, right? Which occupation do you have? Are you Low Risk or High Risk Country? Are you alone or with other people on your application?
There are definitely some occupations and sectors who get prioritised for processing. So if you are a nurse, a doctor, an engineer, ICT security or anything quite in demand, you have higher chances to be approved quickly.
Otherwise, I would recommend to be patient. That's just a kind recommendation from someone who thought would be processed quickly and got stuck

I'm an April 2017 applicant too....technically, they should start looking at them in the next month if they are to keep their current rate up.....BUT, and its a big but, they are so unpredictable, that honestly, with their timeframes in mind, I've put my own approval window from September 2017, to March 2018......and hoping really for an answer before christmas, as I had to submit a 'change of circumstances form' which I suspect will knock our application being opened back a while (case officer will look at the pile of applications and do the easier ones first to keep up the numbers, but that is just a personal opinion, no basis in fact).
The wait is a real killer, even if you enjoy your job and hope to be in it for 20 years!
Thats right i hope they will do end of this month or next month

Ahoy there guys & gals,
Just a super quick one, and would really appreciate the help. My partner and I applied for 186 DE in April this year, and I'm actually on a 457 visa which doesn't expire until June of 2018....now my partner has to go back to Spain tomorrow for an emergency. Are we technically still on that 457 with no travel limitations? or are we on a bridging visa A the moment we submit our application? Tried calling the department and I got an unsure 'yeah...should be fine' which didn't give me too much confidence!!
Again, really grateful for any reply!
Anyone knows which month application they are opening atm

The first post on here, think it might become my second port of call every day following my daily date with the immiaccount website!
Our timeline is as follows. Arrived in Oz on hubby's 457 visa in Feb 2015, and applied and nominated for 186 visa (transition pathway) both on 18th April 2017.
Have just uploaded details on the spreadsheet, and noted it seems to average about 6 months+ for the application to be approved.
I think the worst part for us is the waiting, as you can't plan your life until you get the decision, and it's so difficult as that decision will impact on you for the rest of your life. So, I'm hoping that as I'm writing this post, the case officer, who will eventually be assigned to us, is just about to open our application. I can but dream!
Wish everyone on here well in the old waiting game!
How is everyone else coping with the waiting?
I am preety much same like you just apply after one week from you guys
did you get the email from immi for allocated the CO and under which profession you applied

You will find the official timelines here: http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/186-
As mentioned above, the official communication is: they are processing May 2016 to March 2017. Send an email to this address if you want to check by yourself nsw.pse@border.gov.au . They always send an automatic answer with the official timeframes.
This spreasheet also gives an indication - however keep in mind that we can only see a small percentage of applications there: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1INy6sxuUIisgLOT7CcskWLjQjHV_6yVvUBRHceWE_a0/edit#gid=1244798606
I am not sure if you applied through Transition or Direct Entry and what your occupation or company are.
If your role is not specifically vital to Australia (i.e. Nurse, Education, ICT security etc.) there are little to no chances that your file would get approved before the official timelines.
ENS after 457 visa
is it direct entry or transition stream
