  1. 21st month since application, and approximately 18 months since 100% test and no approval yet.
"Loved" last conversation with immi, "You are still within timeframe...".

    Same here mate
21st month is going since applied
16 months since test passed with 90%
    No approval yet.
Recently called immi and been advised that “ your application is on right track “

  2. Hello all,
I moved from one place to another place in same state and already have changed my address into immi account. And now my new place comes under different council.
So what I have do to change my council also, should I call council or immigration to change the council ?
Please give me a suggestion. Thanks

  3. So over a year from passing the test? I would chase it once you are back in Australia. I really don’t understand why it can take so long for some when others like me were approved the same day!

I know that many applicants get approval same day of the test, some gets after few months and not only me but some of like us are still waiting. I don't understand what exactly going out there.
  4. Ideally you should have let them know. Approval can only be granted when you are onshore. Hopefully it shouldn’t delay things too much for you but I would prompt them if you don’t have approval a couple of weeks after your return.

When did you do the test?

Test was on 15th august 2017. I know it's been ages for few of us in this forum who are waiting for so long.

I checked vevo for visa. It confirms my current valid visa. Thats why I thought I'll be ok.

  5. Almost 18 months waiting time over 14 months since successful citizenship test. No requests, nothing.
Called them when the processing time was 12 months - nothing, even didn't ask the for details.
When processing time was 15 months they checked application details and I was told: "it is only over 15 months call us when it will be over processing time by at least a month", now it is almost 18 months, they didn't even ask for details, said can't comment and that I can do nothing. A bit frustrated with the attitude.
Have two questions, how do you ask for Freedom of Information in regards of citizenship application and what does it provide in regards of the citizenship application?
Which ombudsman should I apply for investigation and how much time does it take?
    Thank you!

PS: Oziee, any movements on your application?

Nah my friend, no movement for me either yet.
I really don't know what exactly going out there, it's bit of frustration and tired of thinking about.

I'm also in a same boat
    Applied 28 March 2017
Test Given 15 Aug 2017 and that is it......now waiting, waiting and just waiting since.
    From QUEENSLAND.

  7. My situation is similar to Oziee, just a bit longer. In 10 days it will be 17 months since application. No issues with eligibility.
I’ve called department and they told that 16 months wait time is now standard and there are lot of similar applications, when it will be over 16 months I should call. Will call them when it will be 18 months.

Have you finished the test already??
Which state or council you applied from?
    Are you from HR/LR country?

    Hi all,

Just wanted to see if anyone is in the same situation. My one year PR eligibility for citizenship was supposed to be complete in July 2017. However in April 2017, the motion was passed to make PR requirement 4 years, thus making me ineligible. In July 2017 I still applied online and my application went through. In October I received the email stating that as the new law had not passed parliament, my application would be assessed against the existing criteria. However i have not received anything as yet. Not even a test invite. The status from Day 1 has been "Received" in the online Immi account. Just wondering if there is anyone else is the same situation or if anyone has any advice? Thanks!

    Date applied: 23rd July 2017

    City/Council area: Canterbury NSW

    Online / Paper: Online

Date received the acknowledgement email: 23rd July 2017

    Test invite email:

    Date of the Citizenship Test:

    Date of approval:

    Ceremony invitation:

    Date of ceremony:

    Type of ceremony:

Hi there, I'm in same situation, just slightly difference
Online application on 28 march 2017
    Test date 15th august 2017 ( passed it )
and that's it....I'm still waiting for my approval.

The last ceremony date in my area is October 31st so don't think I will be making that one

I wish you receive before the date. Do you know any other date in our area before the calendar year finished ?

On council website mentioned  that council organise 6 ceremonies each year. Do you know which days are ?

A lot of applicants who appeared in test June or July are still waiting for the approval letter. I guess the applications are in a queue to be allocated to Case officers.

Atleast you all have done your test and I still have to give which is in next week so I don't know how long it will delay for august applications.
Anyway Sheila finger cross for you all who are waiting.

My council is Hume and they just simply say call immigration regarding this

    that it

Citizenship Ceremonies are always being held by councils and they schedule for applicants who are attending for ceremony.

But if they're saying like that then try calling immigration and get help what they will suggest you.

Just call your local council which you have selected in your application and ask them to reschedule it. Simple.
