  1. Hi everyone,

    Congratulations, Simon.

Visa granted 9.05 this morning (15/9), one day after Simon so Gordian, it will be your turn very soon. I lodged on 22 March, updated all info on 26 April and I have only 60, Brisbane.

Thanks, everyone for keeping me sane. for the last few months I have looked forward to what you guys have to share here instead of checking my email for the news.

Because of this wait. We started the whole process in Jan 2016 and life has basically been on hold since then, and things are moving so slow that I just think it's gonna be the 11-15 months they say. Its just ridiculous. If it's not granted by next march then will have to do med and police checks again too which is more money.

    Hi Simons,

I know it is hard but hang in there. The grant may come any day. You have waited such a long time after all.

Excellent news - but also soo unfair!

I have submitted a 190 visa for the same occuptation, but I submitted mine on the 2nd March! I had C/O contact 3 weeks later and submitted Police and Med checks on the 30th March and still waiting! I wish there was some logic that could be applied to understand when I can expect my visa to be approved.

Please don't get me wrong, very happy that visas are being issued and other people are being successful - I guess I can just hope that my approval isn't too far behind your grant.

    Hey Pete,

Someone just got a grant for quality assurance today and he lodged on 8th August, offshore to Adelaide. Is that the skill you are after? if yes, that is strange and 'unfair' as you said.

Oh my word guys. The day has come.  After nearly seven months of agonising waiting (close to break down at some stages!) our visa has finally been granted. I am in complete and utter shock. I hope with all my heart that you all receive the good news you are waiting for soon as I know from experience that it is so hard hearing if someone else's grant when you are still waiting for your own.  Much love and thanks for all the support and words of empathy of the past few months.  I will visit regularly to watch the rest come in ?

Great news, Yikes. I was disappointed to see no new grants on today and definitely thrilled to read the good news.

Perfect! That's where i'm heading so any info on suburbs, good schools, things to do for families would be much appreciated. Thanks :)

HI Yikes, what would you like to know? primary or secondary school for kids? how far from the city you would like to go? house prices here have increased by 100 or 200k for the last 5 years in some suburbs and it is such horrible news for us trying to buy the first home. the government provides kind of help for first home buyers though. I mean if you buy something lower than 600 0001, you don't have to pay stamp duty, which could be around 30,000. if up to 740,000 you are entitled to some concession. you guys may be aware of this already but just in case ...

Hi guys i just got CO contact saying they want my most recent payslips (3 months} . They also said i fill in a form called Form 1399, does any1 kno what this form is about and if it means grant is near?

VISA lodged 3 june  , nsw, electrician

HI it is the form to check whether you have served in your country's army or not. That means you are processing your application but they may need time to verify the information you provide in the form and it may take quite some time.

  7. Hi Nelly,

As far as I know you don't have to start the queue again if you upload your CV but you will have to if the CO asks you to submit further support document. If you update any information that changes your status, for example a higher PTE score that now gives you 70 instead of 60, then you will be lined up behind those lodging before your updating day.

  8. All of my friends who got the grants in less than 5 weeks said that we need to lodge a complete application and include all necessary supporting documents (they did not do the health check until the case manager told them to, though). Problems such as wrong details in translated documents or missing contact details of referees means you need to update the information and then start the queue again. Maybe it is a good idea to have a look at all the documents to see if everything is o.k.

  9. Thanks, Nelly for sharing this. I have been thinking maybe there is something wrong with my application. All of my friends who applied for visa 190 on shore last year and the year before got the grants in 3 to 5 weeks. and I have been waiting since 22nd of March. I hope they would look at those lodged in Jan-March 2017 in August.
