  1. Hi

I received the “Golden email” yesterday, informing me that my Permanent Residency has been granted. My wife and I are over the moon, but even more so as we are expecting our first child in December (who will now be Australian). :D

My heart goes out for all the people still waiting, particularly those who submitted in 2016. Stay strong and support each other.

For anyone who is interested, my timeline is as follows:

    LR – 186 Transition – 2 people – Hydrogeologist

Submitted the application “decision ready” = 10/04/2017

Received an odd request for a “permanent contract” from the DIBP = 04/10/2017

My agent responded to the DIBP = 05/10/2017

Nomination and Permanent Residency was granted = 30/10/2017

    Thanks,

    Samuel

Hey guys looking at June 2017 tab in the spreadsheet only 2 visa applicants on there, yet when you look at June 2016 there was nearly 60! And it's a similar theme in May and April.

Do you think this is indicative to the common trend, that PR apps have gone down? Maybe because applicants/companies can't or arent willing to comply with new rules? Or simply not as many people following this thread?

I thought it would have been the opposite and applications would have increased. Interesting to know what peoples thoughts on this are who are in the know!

I made a similar comment several weeks ago. Based on the spreadsheet the drop in number starts from Jan 17, which I don’t think is related to any policy change (April 17). I agree with you, I think fewer people are using the spreadsheet. I tend to use the spreadsheet to see which month the immigration team are working on. It appears they are eating their way through Jan 17.

Assuming there is a fixed percentage of people who add their details to the spreadsheet (60-80%?) I would still say there was a drop in applications number.

I`m from Feb '17 and can`t wait to see this to speed up after Jun - Oct applications are sorted.

    Hopefully... ;)

I would be interested in knowing the relationship between the total annual number of applicants and the number of people who add their details on the spreadsheet. I am a nerd.

It's likely the peak in applications in June 2016 (seen in the spreadsheet) is a result of the UK vote to leave the EU.

Let's hope you are right and the processing time reduces.

  4. Hi Guys

I submitted my PR application in April 2017 (Transition, LR, x2), so I have a long wait ahead of me.

Based on the spreadsheet, it would appear there is a significant drop in the number of people applying (after Dec 2016). Is this a real decrease or just a reflection of the number of people entering their details onto the spreadsheet?  Thanks
