WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAAAAN?? It''s non sense
I totally agree. It doesn't make sense.
Why do 16.000 applications in June 2017 negatively affect processing times from people who applied in April or May 2016?
Why is immi not clearing the back log from 2016 first and then move on to 2017 files?

Immi account application is showing the estimated processing time as well now.
It is shown as 8 months to 10 months for me
Are you guys also seeing the estimated processing time in your application?
Is the processing time estimated total or from now on?

Lol nothing unfair... it has been 19th months now of my TRT visa application nd nothing happened yet....no CO allocated ...
That's the longest processing time I've heard of so far. Scary...!!!!

They have updated the processing time : http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/186-
No change for TRT 8-10 months but the DE has increased to 9-15 months!
ER
90% will be approved within 15 months, and the other 10% have to wait maybe 16 or 17 or 18 months or even longer. That is ridiculous!

I haven't seen such employer restriction to work for 2 years after PR is granted anywhere on the DIBP website stating PR visa will be cancelled.
It is not a restriction, it is the main condition of the 186 DE visa which also must be part of your employment contract handed in to DIBP with your application. You don't find everything on their website, that's why I would advise everyone to get an immigration agent, even better an immigration lawyer because they can advise you of legal consequences what agents are not always doing.

Hi everyone, I have been silently followed this forum and find it very helpful. So I hope someone here can help me with this question.
i have just been granted PR but my MA insists that I need to work for my employer another 2 years because it will cause me trouble when applying for citizenship. they will check employment history and may not grant citizenship if I dont work for my employer 2 years post PR. Have anyone here got any idea about this?
Thank you
Your MA is right if you were granted a DE 186 visa. Opposite to the 457 transition to PR you have to work at least 2 years with your sponsoring employer AFTER your PR was granted on a DE. However, my MA also told me that DIBP has no resources allocated to follow up and cancel PR visa if you decide to leave your employer as it is common practice but it's legally not correct and yes it might affect your citizenship application.

Hi all
I just received the golden email today. After first applying in December 2015 to have my first PR visa refused in April 2017 due to incorrect documents uploaded, I reapplied on 19th May 2017 and got the nomination and visa granted 26th October 2017.
LR, TRT, secondary school teacher, 5.4 months.
I am over the moon! Good luck to everyone else
Congratulations! Well deserved.
I thought once a visa application has been refused, you cannot re-apply. Seems like it's possible. Great.

It seems like at the moment there might be a chance that immi will take over 2016 applications into the new year 2018. How can they justify that?

Hey,
my mate's MA chased the Immi about his application and got his visa approved ( transition from 457).
in your experience is that somethin would "work" for the Direct entry also?
What did the MA do specifically? My MA is trying to chase my visa for months with inmi with no success. Still no CO allocated after more than 11 months waiting 186 DE.

Has your nomination approved yet?
No. Not even case officer has been allocated. What about your application?

Guys,I talked to an MA today, they said it looks like the immi department is currently trying to drag the time as long as possible to make sponsors change mind and employ aussie instead. Have you heard of anything like this?
Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOzIsn't that illegal to influence the process, especially from government side as they should follow the rules?

What happened to all the DE 186 from last year? Have they forgotten about us???

I lodged my application 9 months ago, 22/12/2016 and still as received status.
Any clues?

Has any one had approval from May 2017 yet?
People still waiting from May 2016!!! So I would be patient and don't expect too much.

Lots of people wait more than 8 or 13 months... for no obvious reason, unfortunately.

I m waiting from nov 2015......now on bridging visa....no case officer allocated yet......nothing happened to my file nearly 2 years very soon
Do you have MA? This is not a reasonable timeframe. I would contact an MA and request an update in your case. This is scary for everyone else waiting here, as this can happen to all of us, who knows. Uncertainty is the worst!!!

Is this just my feeling or all visa applied in 2016 are on hold? Nothing is happening in the new financial year...

Good news for me! 186 DE PR Granted today and I have updated the spreadsheet.
Nomination and Visa applied onshore on 4/4/2017
Occupation: External AuditorFamily of three in the application (My child and myself (main applicant) are citizens of a LR country whereas wife is citizen of a HR country)
Nomination firm (which I am working for): One of the biggest professional services (accounting) firms in Australia/Globally with annual revenue in billions.
No further documentation requested from DIBP.
All the best to the rest of you!
Congrats mate! All the best for you and your family!
I live in this country for 8 years from student visa to 457 to challenging circumstances, have a MBA and applied DE 186 more than 9 months and nothing so far. How is that possible? How is that fair? Others get it approved within 4 months. This is ridiculous. Sorry DIBP, not acceptable!!!!

How much tax do you pay on a bridging visa? My tax agent told me 32.5% as I'm considered non- resident for tax purposes. Is that right?
