We are offshore, it was a 189 and our IED is 22nd Nov 2018

I got a direct grant today [emoji3]
We applied on the 8th December 2017

I’m an just about to submit my visa application, looking for advise of the best method of paying the fee in order to minimise transaction fees. I’ll be applying from the UK so assume if I use my credit card there will be a fee for paying in Australian Dollars.

I'm about to apply for the 189 visa and I'm pulling together the documents required to be uploaded. It says for employment evidence to submit payslips, how many do they need? I have my p60s so will upload those just not sure on what's acceptable on the payslips.

It would seem that fake EOIs have been flooding the system for a while so maybe they are taking some time just now to review all invites previously issued. They could send invites out with the normal rounds so keep an eye on your skill select account.

I submitted my EOI with 75 points on 25th August. All genuine points!!

DIBP have issued a statement saying that there will be no invites issued to accountants in the next invitation round.

Seems likes it's taking them a while to sort out the mess of the last round with suspected fake EOIs going in bringing the points up to 85.

So gutted as I should have got the invite last time [emoji22]

When did you submit your eoi suziemac?
Interesting that they didn't invite any accountants in last round - hope that changes for you soon!
My skills assessment paperwork does refer to the academic level ielts results but I guess as long as I have proved that I have achieved an allowable level 8 on the general test, hopefully that will be enough.
Do keep me posted on your invitation progress as I'm keen to know how you get on being in a similar situation to me right now.

Thanks Suziemac - really appreciate your advice here especially as you have been in the same position.
Were you asked any questions at all about your skills assessment having one English test grading on it and you providing another English test to prove you could have the 20 points for the Superior English?
PS - assume you now have your visa? [emoji4]

I was in the same position, I sat the ielts general and got the marks I needed to get the maximum points.

I would definitely try and get that score up as it doesn't look like people with below 75 will be getting an invite anytime soon.

The skillselect website says invites to 75 pointers in the August 9th round went to 24th June. Then one of the (unofficial) tracking websites says in the August 23rd round they got to at least 14th July. If that suggests about 3 weeks movement per round, you're looking at at least a couple of rounds wait. So maybe the second round in September...

I've just submitted my EOI with 75 points for 189 80 points for 190. Does anyone have an idea how long it might take to get an invite? I'm going to start on the Form 80 now!

Do I need to wait to hear back from the CPA on my work experience before submitting my EOI?  I have a positive skills assessment for my qualifications and the EOI doesn't appear to need any confirmation that the work experience has been assessed.

I'm hoping to apply with 75+5 for a 190.

I am in the process of completing my EOI for a skilled visa, I am applying under the management accountant job and I have had a skills assessment from CPA the professional body which gives me the full points for my qualifications.  They didn't assess my work experience I have submitted all my documentation to them and I'm waiting for a response.

My question is do I need to wait to hear back before I submit the EOI?  The form only asks about the skills assessment and asks for the relevant authority and the date this was awarded.  The employment section just asks for the jobs I've done and the dates, it doesn't require any confirmation that this has been assessed.

I'm ready to go with everything else.

Any advice appreciated.

Would a new result change your skills assessment? I only ask as my husband's CA skills assessment includes his English results. Don't know if it matters if you had another result that was higher.maybe not! 

I'll only have 65 without superior English which doesn't appear to be enough.  I don't need the higher mark for the skills assessment just the points test.

Hello

I am hoping to put my EOI in soon, just waiting for the skills and employment assessments coming back from CPA.  I have done the IELTS Academic and only got a 7 for writing, I know to get superior English you need 8s for each element but is the fact that you've taken the Academic test get taken into account?  Would they see a 7 at Academic equivalent to 8 at general?  

The 10 points obviously make a huge difference.

I'm just in the early stages of planning a move to Australia, I'm going to apply for a 189 visa and hope to have 75 points. I'm pulling documents together for my skills assessment, education is no problem but I'm not sure what to do with my current employer. I have been there nearly 5 years in a role relevant to my qualification however I don't want to ask for a reference as I don't want them to know about my plans just yet. Does anyone have experience of getting employment recognised without the official letter head reference? I'm sure I can get a senior colleague to write a statutory declaration to confirm my employment.
