My wife`s timeline 

309/100 application:  27/12/2020

309 granted: 19/03/2018 

First entry : 08/09/2018 

100 visa application: 30/01/2020 ( 1 month after eligibility)   ... but still waiting for the grant 

Anyone with similar timeline ?

My wife received her Partner visa 309 yesterday after 2 months and a half from applying ..!!   it was such a formidable news for us

Timeline:

Application logged online: 28/12/2017

Police check done after 3 days, and health check done also after 1 month

Case officer was assigned in 18/02/2018

The case officer asked for German police certificate to be provided , because my wife lived in Germany for more than 12 months

Visa granted in 19/03/2018

I applied last december 29th.  2017 . offshore . used an agent in Australia.

Finger prints done after 2 days of submission 

1 month later a case offcer was assigned  , and the agent asked for Medicals to be done

Medicals Done.

Still waiting and no interview call was received

Approval: 22/03/207   dated 15/03/2017

Ceremony letter received: 18/5/2017  ( I`m no sure about what date I receive It, but it is between 15th and 18th May.)   dated 10 May 2017 

Ceremony date: 06/06/2017 

Passport application: 07/06/2017 

Collection date from passport office: 21/06/2017

the ceremony location was allocated by the DIPB not the council , It was in the city  near the DIPB , I called the council 2 days before the ceremony to confirm the location, as in the council`s website it says craigieburn, the council told me to go to the location which DIPB stated in the invitation letter 

FYI: if you attend the ceremony in the city ( at the college of surgeons venue)  some of your council representatives will attend too.

It took me only 2 months to receive the invitation letter.

Hello 

I called the immi department and the nice lady said that I have allocated a tentative date of 06/06/2017 for my ceremony , she said I should receive a letter in the next days for the confirmation, and aftera 2 days I received the latter and after 2-3 weeks I attended the ceremony 

My council is Hume, VIC .

and last Wednesday I received my Australian passport

I attended my citizenship ceremony today, Melbourne

It was well organised, did not take much time, around 100 person were there.

Finally, and proudly I can say I`m an Aussie, and proud to be a part of this great nation.

Just received my invitation letter to attend the citizenship ceremony.

Timeline:
Hume Council , VIC 
Application : 26/01/2017 
E-mail received for the test: 07/03/2017
Rescheduled online: 10/03/2017 ( original date: 19/06/2017 )
Approval letter: 22/03/2017 dated 15/03/2017
Ceremony invitation letter: 17/05/2017 
Ceremony date: 06/06/2017

The strange thing is that I called DIBP couple days ago to ask for any tentative date of the ceremony, and the nice lady said I got one in the 1/08/2017 ... !!! but I received the invitation letter today for June ceremony .!

Any way, the sooner the better .. lool

Hey 

In the approval letter, in case you already received it, your PR visa will cease when you attend the ceremony and have your citizenship certificate, which means till the ceremony and you are on PR visa, 

Re-entry to Australia while you are on PR visa will not be an issue at all.

Check the Junk/spam folder in your husband`s e-mail , he may receive his test e-mail in it , this is what happened to many applicants, including me,

hey 

I`ve seen many applicants experienced the same situation, the DIBP send out e-mails for test/interview according to each applicant`s case, this means even if you both made the citizenship applications at the same time you both may receive e-mails with different dates this is due, as I said, the DIPB will look at each application alone and with different approach. 

but still, you may select to attend the same ceremony.

Normally waiting period for the ceremony letter/ date could take up to 6 months as a maximum from the approval date , but this depends and can take less than 6 months ( most of applicants got their ceremony letters start from 1 to 3 months)  and also the DIPB issues the invitation letters for ceremony according to the council`s ceremonies dates... you can check your city council`s website to see the available ceremony dates... 

DIPB will end for you an invitation for the ceremony ,,,,, and also I`m waiting for the ceremony letter,,,

The Government will introduce new citizenship related legislation into the Parliament, informed by responses to this paper, by the end of 2017. The package of reforms will apply to applications received on or after the Government’s announcement on 20 April 2017.

It is a normal thing.. all applicants have noticed that their parents details are appearing bellow the applicant`s ones,  even if you call the DIBP they will say it is OK  and there is nothing to worry about.

To my experience (or at least what I have seen from other forums), the waiting time can vary due to many reasons, when they do security check they take into consideration many factors like : the country of origin, your background in Australia and overseas, your name ( maybe there are a lot of people who have the same name as yours...). If you used to do security check for work here in Australia I believe this will speed the process to get the security check to be done on time. Also + the state you are living in , in you are living in a place where there too much applicants I think this will take time to be assigned with a test date. ( personally when I was calling DIBP to check when It will be my test date , the officer was saying to me that we are dealing with every application alone, case by case, you should not compare yourself with others)

For immi account you will not get any notification in it, only after the ceremony, then the statue of your account will be shown " Finalized"  ( of course after your receive you citizenship certificate) 

keep check your e-mail account  even the spam/junkie folder, many applicants receive their e-mail for the test in it, including me,

Most applicants have been trough this waiting period, some more than 5 weeks , myself I waited for 5 weeks to get my test e-mails. 

Advice: Check your spam folder in your e-mail, as many applicants received their test e-mails in the spam folder.

I tried to change citizenship test date online, however no slots are available before July.

Will it help to call them to try to change the test date? Can I ask to take the test in other location where they might have more availability?

If you are in Melbourne you can change it online, and abviously this is what you did, and if you try to call them they will use the same system as you would use to change the test date .

I changed my test date online from 19/06/2017  to 10/03/2017 , what I did was that all time I kept checking the online booking system until I found an earlier date ( in fact I changed it twice , from June to April to March) 

If you can not find an earlier date, my advice is to delay your test appointment and travel to do your work,
