  1. Hi There,

I got my residency(187) approved April last year. But i am working with my current employer since last 3.5 years.

Recently our company  lost some major contracts and the business has taken a hit.

My boss has told me that he can no longer provided me full time employment. He is happy for me to join some where else.

My question is if i leave my present job and work with another company will that affect my visa as i have not completed the two years?

  2. Nice one mate. Very happy for you. Such a exciting news from you to all the DE applicants especially the ones onshore like myself [emoji4]
Did you submit your medicals and PCC a few weeks after Nom application or Visa application?

Pcc and medicals were submitted after visa application

  3. Congrats mate. This sounds like a super speedy one for DE applicant so great news for DE applicants. However I could not see your record of timeline on the spreadsheet.

Could you please share more in regards to how many people in your application, did you apply onshore or offshore and have you been asked for any additional documents and etc? Many thanks.

    Thanks mate

Its under Mike on the spreadsheet.

I applied onshore, medicals and pcc were submitted a few weeks after application.

    no further docs request.

  4. Hello everybody, thank you for sharing your stories. It helps understanding the Wait !
I am a silent follower for a while. Here is my story :
My husband is lecturer and sponsored by a university, we are a family of 4, offshore, low risk country, rsmv 187
Nomination application : 19 april 2016 by the sponsor
    Nomination approved : 10 october 2016
Application submitted and visa paid : 19 january 2017
Last week, we received a call from the university : another lecturer, in the same situation, reached Immigration office and they told him the processing time was running from the date he had paid and not from the nomination date.
Which means we will probably not receive our visa before november 2017 ?
We did not understand that...neither the university. Very strange. We were about to move in July.
So, our sponsor is going to nominate us  for a 457 this week and hopefully we will be in Canberra in August ?

University Lecturers occupation is now only available through STSOL list
Which mean you will need to prove GTE condition and as you have already applied for a permanent visa that will be difficult to prove.

Please take professional advice before going through

  7. Hi Guys,

FINALLY - best news ever oh my god. After nearly a decade we're permanent residents!!! We got the grant early today. It hasn't fully sunk in yet. I haven't cried in relief yet!

Thank you to everyone for the support and for sharing your experiences - it has made a big difference knowing we're not alone. I'm updating my details on the spreadsheet now, along with my signature here.

Good luck to everyone - hang in there I know how shockingly rough the wait is - I hope you get your good news sooner rather than later! Shout out to my fellow comrades waiting for a year and longer @Zee14042016 @badaich89 @Raj1985 @Apr 2016 and to other Marketing Specialists @Jess6 - praying for you guys!!

Applied on 22 June 2016 as a chef from high risk country on 187 onshore .my Medicare card valid for next 22 June ,I don't think they can touch my files before that what gona happens do I need to contact with Medicare or have to wait for case officer

You don't need to contact Medicare as they can see your visa status.

if there is no change till 22 may then they will send you another Medicare card with one year validity.

hi guys....my nomination approved on thursday....CO requsted my wifes functional english requirement.....we did submitted ielts but it was expired(1.5 year old and actual validity was one year for dependent ).....so we have submited school letter with from my wife's school that she has completed all her primary ans secondary education from english medium with school logo and stamp and signed by principal...is that enough??? or co will refuse it

    nominatio and visa applied...21-05-2016.

    occupation...early childhood teacher

the department has the following guidelines for language reuirement

    • Completed all years of primary education and at least three years of secondary education in an educational institution in or outside Australia and all instructions were in English.
    • Completed at least five years of secondary education in an institution in or outside Australia and all instructions were in English.

a letter on the letter head of the school or university  should be sufficient.

You can contact a MA for more information.

  12. Just want to share the good news - our MA called just a few minutes ago to say that we are now permanent residents!
    Timeline:
Nomination and Visa application: 9 November 2016
Approved: 13 April 2017, NSW PESE no further documents requested.
Prior to this, our employer actually lodged nomination and visa application back in April - which had to be withdrawn due to being 19 days early from the required minimum 2 years of employment. It has been a long wait but definitely worth it! Hope this gives you guys more hope and patience in waiting for your turn.
    Happy Easter!!
Also, in my experience with the 2 applications, I had called immigration once for every application and they seem to have looked in our applications quickly after that. So if you can, try to give them a ring just to get an update, being mindful of the processing times of course.

    Congrats buddy[emoji1303]

  16. Yeah direct entry. I wonder how long will they take to aprove it!!

Congrats mate for the nomination approval.

It should not be long if you have already submitted the requested documents.

Have you informed the case officer that you have submitted the docs
