  1. I just talked to my MA. He had no granted visa since May.

I was just wondering if someone of you logged the official processing times. I looked in the web cache but could only find following:

    March
Direct Entry Pa 11 months 12 months
Transition Path 8 months 9 months
    17. May 17
Temporary Re 9 months 11 months
Direct Entry str 13 months 14 months
    14 June 2017
Temporary Re 9 months 11 months
Direct Entry str 13 months 14 months
    20. Jul 17
Temporary Re 8 months 11 months
Direct Entry str 13 months 15 months

    Has someone more data?

And having lived in Australia for many years I can tell you that a large part of the population is anti-immigration, they see jobs going to foreigners instead of to ozzies, they see immigrants getting welfare, benefits and pensions, they see immigrants getting criminal records but being allowed to stay in spite of government promises, and the overwhelming impression I came away with was that your average ozzie on the street does not want the doors opened to more immigrants. To think that a majority of the population would sign petitions to speed up visa processing is just not realistic. Nor do ozzies care how long it takes someone to get a visa, its of no consequence to them, and most of them have absolutely no knowledge of the visa system anyway - why should they/.

Right. But they are more happy let in skilled people than people who don't have any other option. I do have many other options. Compared to other people here in the forum, praying is not one of them. I just pick one of the other countries with high salary and life quality.

there are approvals going through on the 186 Spreadsheet - they are very rare and slow at the moment though.

I just wonder if simply fewer people are sharing their timelines on the spreadsheet...

no mate. I have a friend who is waiting since months for a simple temporary graduate visa.

We should contact media. Not only is unfair for us but rather it has a negative impact on the economy. My boss thinks since Feb 2016 that I will start working full time any day soon. He has no alternative than me.

If they were working they won't spend 4 months on one month files...emoji35.pngemoji31.png

I also think that they stopped processing. Since I applied the processing time roughly increased each month by one month. And this visa is priority group 1. I am skilled IT person with research experience and my boss really needs me starting ASAP. My MA said it too risky for me to go on bridging visa, so I am on a student visa working part time.

I think they will change the rules retrospectively and that will cause most visas to be invalid. They take their time to define everything and so long everything is on hold.

BTW is there any other IT person waiting? I am in month 12.

I don't think so unless ur IT or some technical professional that to very few in 187 visa we all are waiting for at 10-15 months

How do you think it is different for IT professionals? I am waiting 11 month so far (DE 187, software developer, QLD). .
