  1. Has anybody completed the technical interview for fitter(general) recently, I have mine within the next couple of weeks and not really sure what to expect. Any info from someone who has done it would be great.

    TIA

  2. I have to agree with chasing the dream, do loads of mock tests so you are familiar with the format. I missed out by 0.5 of a point in my writing. My scores were listening 8.5 reading 9 writing 7.5 speaking 8.5. I didn't start revising until the week before, probably could of done with a bit more. Do a google search for ieltsliz, she covers a lot of information on her website and in her YouTube videos. I've re booked for the 24th June fingers crossed. Hope you get the results you need. Good luck.

  3. I think it will be around £1600 by the time I have finished, unless I need to do a practical assessment as well, which will be a further £750 ish. Most of the cost if for the actual skills assessment and not DUC fees. The documents were all certificates, references, proof of experience like bank statements and wage slips. Copy of passport and 2 x photos. I think that is it.
It's worth giving down under centre a call, they are really helpful.

  4. Hi
I'm going through same process as you at the moment. I have up to a HNC in mechanical engineering as well as an apprenticeship. I'm applying as a fitter general. I'm being assessed by TRA through the down under centre. Im not sure about the engineers Australia part.
