Do you need to go to specific places to get a Medical?

 

Also how do you know what medical to get?

We were thinking of getting these done before we go on holiday....worried holiday beer will have a neg effect lol x

We have heard nothing on our EOI so nothing exciting happening here lol xx

It might be different for state sponsored, maybe each state has a separate process for invites.

 

I applied for a 189 visa, which is not dependant on states. I intend to move to Perth, WA.

Ahh good point we are applying for a 190 NSW skilled visa so maybe its different.

An invitation round took place today and next one is on 15/02/2017.

Thats weird....Immigration to oz told me that they dont have specific dates for NSW. Is this incorrect? Where are you applying for Jijiboy?

I got my grant confirmation come through this morning. See timeline below:

 

08/10/2016 - IELTS Exam

21/10/2016 - IELTS Result (8.5)

30/11/2016 - ACS Submitted

05/12/2016 - ACS Result

21/12/2016 - EOI Submitted - 189 (70 Points)

23/12/2016 - PCC Received (Self)

04/01/2017 - Invite received

04/01/2017 - PCC Received (Partner's)

07/01/2017 - Application Lodged & Documents uploaded, including PCC and Form 80

18/01/2017 - Medicals

30/01/2017 - Grant!

 

Planning on moving over July/Aug 2017.

We have lodged our EOI for a 190 for NSW on the 11th Jan.

Any other plumbers in the same situation or a step ahead?

Mine is a 189 visa. We are hoping to move in July!

Its for my husband and he has 60 points and he is a plumber

Maggie we only have one quarantine station now in Australia and that's in Melbourne. Hence why all animals imported have to land and stay in Melbourne for 10 days. After the 10 days you can either go down and pick them up and drive back or you can use dogtainers to transport them from Quarantine to your door or local airport.

We used Dogtainers to move the other way. They were excellent and i think they do cats.

 

The reason they fly to Melbourne - though i think they can go to Sydney, is because that is where the quarantine site is

I have asked them for a quote and its obviously quite expensive which is what we expected. Just wondered if anyone has any experiences with different companies etc.

Also still confuzzled why they can only fly into Melbourne.

We are looking to move to Sydney are in October this year and we are aware of the process we need to go through to take our little one out. However im interested in who people have used to transport their pets to Aus and also the costs they paid. Im not sure if its the same across the board or can vary.

Also is it true they can only fly into Melbourne as thats the only place with a quarantine area?

Any further advice/pointers would be greatly received as I cant see us leaving her here :tongue:

We are looking at renting straight away but we have a property in the UK that we are letting out and have never rented between us so cant get references. Does anyone know if this will cause us a problem? We would be happy to put a few months rental upfront.

EOI for 190 (or 489) for South Australia lodged on December 7. However, we did make a small mistake on it which was raised and rectified. Still left Kirsty on 80 points but whether that pushed us down the line or not we are not sure. We have not had police checks or medicals yet. We are heading to SA & Vic for a very last look around to decide yes/no early next month.

How long did it take you before you got selected for a visa application?

We were applying for a 189 but as my OH lost 5 points for getting a year older we went for the state nominated visa instead. How many points did you all have?

My other half has just lodged our EOI for the a state sponsored visa in NSW (im assuming its a 190). He is a plumber and has 60 points.

I have been driving him mad with questions so though it would be an idea to post on here to get some idea of what others are experiencing.

Can someone give me an idea if the time getting selected differs for each profession and if anyone has had any experiences with this for a plumber?

Does everyone get a Case Officer do you only get one when you have been selected?

As the spouse what do I need to do? I dont seem have done much really so is there anything I can do to help.

We are currently using an agent to get this visa and so far it has taken a year to get everything done and the EOI to be lodged. Its so long and i just cant see light at the end of the tunnel so any advice/experiences would be great.
